Getting the PG commit from Nowell is a key. Tristen is in his final year and assume Castle is a one-and-done. The 2024 recruits will want to know who is running the show. Castle was the 1st 2023 commit and he helped bring in the rest of the class. Lets hope Nowell will have similar coattails. I do think Hurley is focusing on a 4 person class and then fill gaps with portal guys, but if Edgecombe or Flagg want to be #5 the door will be open.
Can one of the recruiting junkies give a summary of the difference between Betsey and Abraham and how they compare to Ross and Stewart in this year's class?

Gameplay style looks very similar...I will say, Abraham looks much more fluid offensively, and that's not meant to be a slight at all towards Rese.
This guy is smooth.

Kind of.
In high school, 'Rese was a significantly better shooter, but he was a twig. That's why he was rated as a 3*. Abraham is barely a 20% shooter from deep at this juncture. Abraham is much stronger at the same stage and a better defender because of it. Abraham will be a capable defender at this level just like 'Rese if he works hard to pick up the scheme and gets in the film room. Similar passers (both not very good all things considered).
I would imagine a similar role in the offense for Abraham if he develops much more skill... but he is nowhere near 'Rese his first year at UConn right now. Closer to a freshman year at URI 'Rese, but Abraham isn't going to be playing for an A10 team. By junior/senior year, I think Abraham can have a big impact if he puts the work in. Hard not to buy stock when someone can defend and is coached well.

Betsey is strictly a shooter and defensive player at this point. He has great size but will need to develop more versatility to his game and putting it on the floor more if he wants to reach his potential and not just be a specialist. Abraham looks like a good straight line driver who needs to develop his shooting and overall offensive game more. He's athletic and impacts the game without having plays designed for him, plus he's a winner.
Stewart has a great iso game. He can score in the post, from the midrange, and from deep. He has a bunch of different moves and kind of an old man game like a Paul Pierce...not saying he'll be nearly as good as Pierce. I'm interested in seeing how he fits in not being the guy because he's always been the guy before college. Ross is a very good three point shooter, athletic and makes a bunch of energy plays. He has a very high upside and looks like he may be more ready right away than a lot of us thought when he signed.
I think the '23 class could be special.

"They all bring in a unique skill set. It's a fantastic group. And they've got the type of make-up and pedigree, and the talent level of the guys that have really flourished for us. It's almost like a group, in one class, of Adama, Bouknight, Jordan Hawkins, Andre Jackson. But you've got five of them in one class, with freshmen and sophomores that return from this group, and any other guys. You start saying to yourself we can win a national championship with this nucleus of people we've put together. That's what we're going for. Anything less than doing that will be looked at as a failure."
Of course I don't think he expected to win one before these guys even got to campus.
Abraham has dare I say some Andre Jackson Jr traits in him. Yes please.

Welcome Isaiah! Love the turnaround jumper, the quick and direct drives to the bucket. Can play and defend multiple positions. Flat out excellent recruit, coming here to develop his game to the next level, because that's what we do here at UConn. Props to our best in the nation coaching staff and program.

In small samples I’ve had the same thought I agree.
DH is an elite talent evaluator. He identifies later-developing kids early (I know, it's getting "later earlier these days" 
), but he is clearly not perfect. But these days, I really, really trust the guy. I am guessing Abraham blossoms in his junior year. Just a guess.
