Is UConn the premeire brand in college basketball?

You could make a case for Kentucky, if we didn't beat them like a rented mule whenever we square off. And then there's the whole one and done thing.

Duke? We don't have a shrill like on the national media like Vitale. But Ollie is probably hotter than K, at least right now.

Who's left Roy and UNC? Kansas? Michigan State? We clearly have earned more laurels.

There is, no doubt, much reflected glory from our women's hoop team. That cements Storrs as the center of the basketball universe. It enhances our national profile as more than just winners, we're champions.

Does anyone have a better brand?

I don't think having one & done's makes Kentucky any lesser of a brand… Fact of the matter is, getting the best freshman class year in & year out is always going to make their brand stand out…

As long as Duke & NC keep piling up McD AA's they'll also carry a strong brand, as well…

UCONN's brand is just as strong as any of these programs but is much more results based, which is just how we all like it...

no one is hotter or better than UCONN in the past 15-20 years... I could give a if the media likes us or slobbs on us like they do with uk duke etc... i honestly love how they ignore us bc when we win they look like fools... there are some i like such as jay bilas and jay williams

Indeed. Hard to argue that the longevity of some team's "brands" is much harder to overcome than their teams are on the court. I'd still say the consensus is that the Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Indiana, and Kansas "brands" are all still ahead of UConn based on their long history. UCLA, ironically is not. Their "brand" has lost about 80% of its luster.

I'll believe that has changed when UConn starts getting more than their fair share of recruits, so to speak. So far Ollie's success recruiting has been similar to Calhoun's, picking off a great player once in a while and building a championship caliber team with role players and underrated guys.

I really think you can go back 24-25 years…….since The Shot year, all the Big East titles, Elite 8's and just misses to get to the FF? I mean they've been on top of the world, the rankings for more than 15 years so minus the FF only from 89-90 UConn has been on the high end of the college hoops scene consistently. Everyone has a couple hiccups so minus a couple NIT's and an APR incident I can't imagine a lot of others who have been better, maybe as good, but not better!
