Article in The Athletic today about how good Duke is and how Scheyer is coach of the year:
He does give props to Hurley as a candidate as well, but it's still good bulletin board material.
I'm hoping for a rerun of '99. I was in St. Pete and bought tickets from a Duke student so I was a 50 year old guy sitting in the middle of the Cameron crazies. Would love to repeat that experience in Indy. (And yes, I've already booked the flight).

.-.
The calamari doctrine.
Hey, we wouldn’t turn away many of their players given the chance. Scheyer hasn’t created anything new he’s continued on K’s recruiting coattails at one of the top universities in America, in a major conference. A conference where Duke talent wise is the Globetrotters playing the Generals.

Dirty little secret none of the talking heads are mentioning is how bad the ACC is this year

Hurley will have plenty of BB material for this run, no shortage.

I will say this - this Duke team feels different, starting with Boozer. Kid had a reputation of a winner coming in and it's transcended. At the college level, he's a better player than Flagg. They are the team to beat in my book - would scathe at the idea of them winning it. Last year's team felt younger as they were lead by three freshmen. This year their second and third best player are sophomores with a year in the system.

It would be fun to get a shot, we're due as it's been awhile.

I think our depth is a solid advantage against both teams.
which piece, exactly? reibe and smith have generally proven to be pretty big downgrades from the starters as the season has worn on and seen few minutes.

Ross and Stewart have been good pieces, but inconsistent.

I'm not suggesting duke is loaded on the bench or anything, but our depth hasn't exactly been what's carried us in conference play.

Boozer isn't a better player than Flagg and you have 3 or 4 teams to beat depending on your mood and how they played the day before.

Duke and Michigan and Florida don’t have championship guards
Do we?

Who does? Do you like AZ or Houston?

Evans is a very good guard. Foster not so much.

Is that not overdone when you have SF and PF that can be points on offense?

Expand.

Have you looked at their numbers? Boozer is the better college player. Check out their Maya ratings.

Flagg felt really young, especially when put in iso spots in big situations. Boozer feels mature and hard nosed, I like his makeup better as a college player/freshman.

Maluach is a bust so far.

Let's see: 3.5 pts more a game, 3+ rebounds a game, and Flagg was the better college player? Even at 4 assists a game. Cam shoots it at a much higher % both from 2 and 3. Boozer has been the PoY from the tip, has had zero competition. Flagg wasn't it until last month or so. There is absolutely nothing that says Flagg was better, other than eyeballs?

Boozer also playing a much better OOC and conference schedule. Last year's ACC was dreadful, and Duke stacked their OOC this year.

Not sure there is even debate TBH - and you got iditos like UconnGB who's view on hoops is Kohl's level, calling me a nitwit. We gonna use his eye test?

Oh just stop. We are in a 3 bid conference. The ACC is projected to get 8 or 9. After the top 4 the NewBE will be lucky to have a team over .500. We have the worst SOS of the 1 or 2 seeds despite playing a brutal non-conference schedule. Any if the top half of the ACC would finish in the top 3 in the NBE I suspect.

Boozer better than Flagg…,.,just when I think he can’t out-nitwit himself, he lowers the bar even further
