Boeheim never plays his bench. He has had multiple first round draft picks average a handful of minutes per game until the season he started them, then they played 35 mpg.
some funny lines if you don't have access to the article:
“The last three years we only had seven or eight scholarship players, so we were playing a lot of guys 37, 38 minutes,” Boeheim says.
Coaching the zone fits well with Boeheim’s analytical mind. The amoeba is by definition shape-shifting, and Boeheim, whose parents were both master bridge players, can be lethal in his ability to tweak it.
2017-2018 Syracuse had 7 scholarship players. Washington tore his ACL (barely played before then) after Thorpe quit 2 weeks into the season. 10-14 are 5'7 walk-ons, one of which played the final 6 minutes of the Sweet 16 game vs. #2 Michigan State after Frank Howard fouled out.Did they really only have 7 or 8 scholarship guys each of the last few years? Or this this just nose picker throwing his players under the bus again?
The thing about always having sanctions on you is you don’t have a lot of scholarships
Sanctions hurt a lot but early departures hurt a little bit too.The thing about always having sanctions on you is you don’t have a lot of scholarships
