Is Lamb being underutilized?

I rely on the Board's expertise here, but having a first team AA on your squad, I would expect him to be the primary option at all times. Let the opponents stop him, then go to option 2, 3 and 4.

This team is loaded I know with so many offensive weapons, but I am reminded of Rip being the go to guy, getting touches. Lamb is so efficient that I am surprised we are not running more plays for him.

Granted I am not entirely focused on him during the game or every offensive possession, but are we running a lot of plays for him? Maybe as we get into more competitive play the strategy might change, but Lamb can get you 20+ points easily.

BTW: Where has his floater been lately?

Nah. This is a team. Team ball is the way to go.

I like having such a spread out offense. There are going to be days where Lamb's shot is off, or the other team puts a lockdown defender on him and he has trouble getting his shots. When that happens, I know our offense will be fine, because we have so many weapons.

If the game was closer today, I think you would've seen him take more shots.

Its December. Lamb can't win the NC on his own. Now is the time to grow the supporting cast. By Mid February, the offensive gameplan will look different.

I want a spread out offense but I also want to see JL with the most shot attempts. 12-15 per game seems about right. Lamb scoring early and scoring often will open up the court for everyone else.

Lamb is doing just fine. He never forces shots and he takes his shots in rhythm with the offense and game. He also steps up when he needs to score

This was discussed briefly in the chat room today. I think it was pretty much agreed that he really should take about 14 shots a game. So I went and looked up some stats and he is currently averaging 13 shots/game. He's hitting a ridiculous 52% (42% from three). 52% from a 2 guard/wing is really up there.

While I understand that it's still relatively early in the season and other players are finding their roles, come the meat of the schedule, I would like to see JL putting up closer to 16 shots a game if he can stay over 45%. It is mind numbing how easily he scores. He hasn't been using the floater or taking the pull up as much as I think he could and should. It's nice to have a player who can put up 20-25 on anyone anytime and still not look like he has taken over the game.

When Napier is on, like he was today, they are a really scary backcourt that can just light you up.

I'd like to see him take 15 shots a game if he can do it and not take those shots under pressure.

I'd like to see some more twos mixed in from him. He's too good offensively to be a three-point specialist. Although at times he seems to lack explosive lift for his shot when he's dribbling in the paint laterally and has a defender on him (not to be confused with when he has an open lane to the basket for a dunk). It almost seems like he has to uncoil his arms for the shot and that takes a little extra time compared to a normal-armed person. When he's able to attack the basket directly, the floater becomes an unguardable weapon, but when he's not going right at the basket, he needs to fade away to give himself space to get the shot off.

Although, speaking on behalf of the normal-armed, I'm not sure I know what it's like to be Lamb.
