Title says it all. He would obviously be the only UConn player with three rings. Flip side is he would (likely) be, for each of the three titles, a complimentary 2nd or 3rd scorer apart of a deep and balanced team.

It will say a lot more about Hurley than Alex if we win a third that quickly. This staff puts together great teams without spending near what schools like UK and Arkansas are spending. I honestly believe that we should spend whatever it takes to keep this staff together. It is cheaper than buying a new roster at top dollar every year.

I don't see this as a yes or no answer. If they were to win this year and it was his season and tourney, then maybe yes. That means taking games over when the team is sluggish or off. Making the key plays in crunch time to pull out wins. No prolonged shooting slumps where he has a month shooting 5 of 49 from the arc. Big East Tourney MOP, regional first team type efforts in the Dance, etc.

If he's, as someone else said, the 2nd or 3rd scorer and not the clear leader on the floor then it's not even close to a yes.

There are 2 aspects to this assessment.

1 aspect is the direct contribution. Ie. It is directly due to this player's contributions that we achieved this...

The other aspect is based upon the caliber of the teams that earned the championships, themselves. With appropriate attribution for the individual player's contribution, to be sure.

If Alex earns a 3rd ring, that certainly places him among the best. It makes him our only triple ring winner.

We're he to have been a fourple ring winner? Well that would certainly influence my thinking more.

GOAT? No. But obviously our greatest winner. GOAT is reserved for guys who won big and AA types. Even with an another title this year, I don’t see Alex being an All-American. If we win this year, it will be more about Solo and Tarris being a dominant 1-2 punch.

Yes...

And, in terms of earning the GOAT title....

Alex was seldom even the Huskies' best player on the court over his career, so far.

Emphatically hell no, Charles Barkley's rant on bus drivers and bus riders/passengers comes to mind when reading this thread title

That can’t be rationally answered yes. Even if he’s the best player on the championship team that hasn’t happened yet. Why not ask if Tyler Olander is a better big man than Okafor, Sanogo, Thabeet and Voskuhl because he has more rings.

He would be the only guy with three championships so most decorated team accomplishment wise but there's dozens of Huskies who were better than him. He was the 5th of 6th best player on our two championship teams.

GOAT? Nah. More like the Jeter of the championship Yankee teams. High level complimentary player but as was demonstrated last year, he can't put the team on his shoulders and carry them the way Kemba or Bazz did.
