I don't disagree and am a little surprised. However, with a large spread the impact can be greater. If the spread was say -6.5 it would only go to -5.5 unless it was the top scorer. Perhaps someone on Marquette was questionable and is now playing? But it seems like their roster was healthy their last game.Not sure a starter being ruled out would move the spread 3 points much less the 8th man.
Tbh, I think it went from -20.5 to -19.5 over night. And then just dropped 2 more pts suddenly.
If it really was a shift in sentiment it would've happened more gradually and the algorithm would've been fired. There's no collective mind that all decides to randomly pile on Marquette at 10 am, lol (unless news is released).
