OT: Iron Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Jake Paul looks like Cooper Kupp. That is all I got.
Pimple faced . Looks like a juiced out, young Jay Leno with that underbite.

Modern era PT Barnum. Kid's an earner and I respect that about him.

Still can’t believe all these years and several disappointing fights later that Tyson is still any kind of draw. Post arrest he was never close to same fighter. It’s like all of these 80’s sequels coming out and we are somehow surprised they’re mostly all duds

Great showman and promoter. Like no one should be surprised these are crappy fights.

Netflix is going to surge in value after this.

Bandwidth is an easy solution to fix.
Proof of concept they can get massive numbers for a horrible product.

I think this might be the beginning of the end for Jake Paul. Maybe he was good to cash out.

The fight looked like a sparring session where they were both told don’t take any serious shots.

Think Netflix will regret being a part of it.

The pre-show talk was cringeworthy and the tech difficulties made this whole night regrettable.

Tyson looked terrified during his walk up to the ring. That said, I got chills when the announcer introduced him with “he was, he is, and will always be the baddest man on the planet, IRON MIKE TYSON!”

Iron Mike - I get u we’re tired, but not one haymaker ? Not one quick flurry? Nothing? I mean I wasn’t asking for gatti-ward 4 here but cmon. Not a drop of blood. ? Wasn’t asking for much here but at least try in the last round to land something I don’t care how old and tired u were. People were saying him biting his gloves was code for Paul to let up a bit. Weak

I don't see any way that Tyson actually trained seriously for this fight. The fatigue that kicked in after round three had nothing to do with Paul. Tyson perfected the old man nursing home shuffle long before the fight was even 1/2 over. I don't think it was an act.

Netflix really screwed up and letting people think that the fight started at 8 PM eastern time. they lost people by the minute, leading up to the main ticket.

I was hoping for a worse fate for Netflix but I think your take is spot on. It was clearly buffering so all I did was log back on when I could. It brought me to the 8pm start and I fast forwarded to about 3 minutes before live and the problem was gone.

Sure my 16 yr old with his phone in his hand hated it but looking at that circle 25% was too much for me to take every five minutes.

Actually, I think that could qualify as a form of torture if it was a UConn game I was streaming.

But once the Paul - Tyson fight started I think they had it figured out and I actually got closer than three minutes to live but if it was a buffering issue even live my guess is that there was a delay. They were just trying to figure out how to set the servers and they never really could do it until they had a stable viewer base which happened by round 8 of the women’s fight. Which for me was the highlight of the night.

Taylor uses her head as a third more lethal hand……..

Tyson's defense looked pretty decent though it seemed. Maybe they had an agreement not to land multiple power combinations.

That was a waste of time. Sad watching Tyson.
Was it sad? He went out there. Still showed some reflexes, but didn't look crippeled. He was washed at 39 losing to McBride.

Yes, I wish he could fight. But he can't. His body wont let him.

I think one of the announcers said it near the end saying that time itself will eventually get all those who try to fight it.

Tyson's upper body shape was impressive, but that's a lot of weight to carry on 58 year old legs. The guy has been through a lot in his life. I hope he just enjoys the rest of it.

Maybe not "Iron Mike" anymore..... Aluminum Mike??? :D
Ahhhh, reminds me of the Yard's "Iron Mike" who was neither Iron or named Mike. Guy was 125 pounds soaking wet.

It was a set-up. Jake Paul was guaranteed the win. With this win, he will continue with his clown tour on Netflix with another contender. Tyson was one and done no matter the outcome.

Paul has TERRIBLE technique. His guard was down the whole fight. If Tyson was fighting for real, he would have exploited that immediately, probably for a KO.
