Snider is not athletic at all. Soaking wet the guy is 160 pounds. That weight is fine for a guy willing to put in the hard work to gain strength. His personality doesn't lend itself to this UConn fan being confident that will happen any time soon. Elite BCS defenders will own this kid. He is not an elite player in my opinion.

JMHO...Hope I am wrong if he ends up at UConn.

Have to say he sounds like a combo of Taliek and Marcus Williams to me......he's a jr. and has some nice handle as well as a rounded game. Just because he can't dunk and doesn't possess lightning speed does not mean he won't be a very good PG.......I know it's only video but I like his game and potential and sometimes I'd rather have the kid who lays it in or just throws the bounce pass than the one who feel sthe need to dunk or throw the no-look all the time. Get him to Storrs.............

my thoughts exactly. we need a guy who can manege the game, and set up all the studs to score.

Just like anything in life you have to gauge your competition. Louisville leaves the AAC next year. For those that can actually evaluate talent a quick glance at the potential roster for SMU in 2014-15 puts them clearly above UConn at the moment. The Jim Calhoun era has ended. Ollie is embarking on a learning curve from an X and O's perspective. Calhoun had the ability to recruit players who were under the radar and develop teams into national championship contenders and national champions. In the early stages of KO's career he will have to cash in on his major strength and that is recruiting. When the handcuffs are completely off like they are now I expect Ollie will get the likes of Dorsey (2015). That's how much faith I have in his ability to recruit (he was at a competitive disadvantage in 2014). He will need to be able to pull the Dorsey type player to mitigate for his inexperience on the bench. Calhoun was one of... if not the best big game coach to ever walk the sidelines. HOF coaches are not a dime a dozen (Brown/Calhoun).

If I knew we were landing Chukwu (still very much in it but will be tough) and any one of Larrier, Robinson, Oubre or Abu then the UConn roster would be representative of what I consider a Final4 caliber team with Boatright returning. Abu, Robinson and Snider as mentioned with a Boatright departure as everyone here is speculating will leave a void in the back court and a front court that is merely serviceable. If Boat leaves (which is for argument purposes only since I think he returns) and we bring in Chukwu with Larrier, Robinson or Oubre in addition to Snider we may be able to compensate for a downgrade at the point. My perspective comes with the intent of putting a championship caliber team on the court.

Just my opinion...I hope Snider proves me wrong. All in fun...

Here's the thing: people who evaluate talent thought we looked loaded in 2012 with two top ten recruits (and Boat) to add to a projected lottery pick in Lamb (who blew up for the U-19 team) and a veteran McD's A-A in Alex. We squeaked in and got punked by Iowa State with one NBA player (who's a head case). Those same people thought we wouldn't even make the tourney when we won in 2011.

Winning involves more than signing a few talented guys. They have to gel, and you have to hope the uber-talented guys stick around long enough to make an impact. Mudiay is likely one and done. Maybe he has a Derrick Rose type year, or maybe he's closer to OJ Mayo (by which I mean, puts up big numbers, but team goes 20-12 and goes out meekly in first round - not that there will be violations).

With Purvis and Hamilton, we have two Mickey D's guys for 2014-15. That's all we've ever had at one time. Omar is likely back, maybe DD and Boat too. We have to see if Samuel, Facey and Brimah can be effective role players, and we have to see if we add anyone else in this class who can play right away, but overall I'm not worried about our talent level for the near future.

Snider is a keeper. He didn't like the numbers building at UofL, but it was nothing against him whatsoever. Pitino is guard crazy is all. Make no mistake - if you get a chance to get him, grab him. Q has one of the highest basketball IQ's out there and can already manage a game. He can fill the bucket up, too. I hated seeing him decommit.

If you're right then he won't scare away Dorsey, we'll be able to get both. If you're wrong he's a good get.

People from Louisville think Illinois leads.

surprising, I read the opposite from someone from Louisville, said his friend is Snider's trainer and the only school he ever talks about is UCLA.

I'm his dad and I say he's leaning towards UConn. Who you gonna believe, a friend of a trainer who no one can verify or a dad who no one can verify or generic people from Louisville who know as much as Boneyarders. That is with the notable exception of myself.:)

And yes I know both you and upstater were just throwing out examples of opinions that really are stating no one knows. I just built upon the exaggeration.

Okay, so just suppose that Snider does go to UCLA, does that open up McLaughlin to come East at all? There is very little talk about him, so I assume that he is a long shot at best.
