Maryland Women Earn OT Win at North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Tianna Hawkins grabbed a missed free throw and scored with 1:49 left in overtime to help No. 5 Maryland beat No. 25 North Carolina 78-72 on Sunday.


Delle Donne Has 40 Points for Delaware in Win

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Elena Delle Donne had 40 points and 15 rebounds as No. 21 Delaware cruised to a 66-54 win over George Mason on Sunday.
Danielle Parker scored 10 points for the Blue Hens (12-1, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association), but it was Delle Donne, the nation's leading scorer at 29.5 points per game, who dominated this league matchup.

Someone, in another thread, indicated that perhaps Maryland
should be mentioned in the same breath with the top four ranked
teams.

I have to say that, based on what I saw in today's game, the Terps
would stand no chance against any of the top four IMHO.

If UConn gets a number one seed, I would be delighted to have
Maryland as our 2 seed.

UConn does not have to improve much to over take ND and Baylor. Those are you elite teams. Everybody else is fighting for 4th in the polls

I believe MD would stand a chance vs Stanford on a neutral floor.

Tying 2 threads together, Maryland is not looking impressive, but they are finding ways to win close games. Their 2006 NCAA championship team was a ridiculous 6-0 in OT games, including in the NCAA regionals and national title game.
