Some were scared 2 years ago, when Tyrese, Whaley, Cole, all key left.
Some were iffy on this year's team back in Dec.22 as 2 starters were probably leaving (I think at that point most people were depending on AJax return and thought we'd be thin if he didn't return)
Also, remember: we didn't have JoeyC, Alleyne or HD till after the season in 22 nor Cam until late in the offseason this year.
Next years team will be better than we think and probably have a huge portal piece or 2 that we can't possibly know, but it seems like the trend with this staff.

I would think we need another 4/5 next year. Someone physical with some beef. Probably a portal guy. Samson/Singare at the 5 feels a little light in the physical size/strength dept. Need someone to help on boards and play defense when we run into teams with big and strong centers.
Still traumatized by Boone/Armstrong getting pushed around by 6'7" 250 A10 level guys? I get it.

Is AK going to graduate early? I thought I remembered hearing he's a double major in computer science and engineering or something like that. Seems like the type of kid that is going to get his degree before leaving. I think this is year 3 academically for him, is that right?
He came to UConn 1 semester early. So this May he'll have been here 5 semesters. Probably not enough time to have all his credits to graduate.

Yes we were worried each of the past several years, and pleasantly surprised after Heck people were ready to jump after Gaffney transferred leaving a hole at PG. Lesson learned? Neah, I will worry again next year again when the time comes. It's in our nature.

I agree. Even if Karaban comes back he can’t play any C so we need someone to proven that can hold their own if/when Samson gets in early foul trouble. Singare hasn’t shown that yet.

Coming off the stellar game he just had, Diarra has to be presumed to be our starting PG next year. His job to lose and he won't lose it.

.-.
To sustain our current level of excellence this is what Im hoping for:

Transfer PG- Nowell
Ball- Diarra
Transfer SF- Ross
Karaban- Stewart
Johnson- Singare

This isn't a lineup that will sustain the level of excellence of the last two years. It can be a top 25 team.

More like:

Diarra-Nowell
Ball - Transfer SG
Ross - Transfer wing - Roumouglu
Karaban - Stewart or Stewart - Transfer PF
Johnson - Singare - Transfer muscle C

Plenty of recruiting to do this offseason.

I made it about 5 or 6 posts in to this thread, and before this thread gets locked, this needs to be preserved for the high quality ratio of bad takes to overall takes.

Oof.
