Injury update on Mullins and Furphy from Borges

As best as I can visiting the BY and seeing if there is any news on the injured players. I think Furphy could help us tonight especially if we get the tight whistle and we need more players. My guess is AJ is going to have a ton of fouls called for him as he does like going to the hoop in transition. 3Q just started so will it take 1 hour and 20 minutes to play a half of college football? It is 38-2 great game.
Fwiw Furphy is moving well in warmups.

Even if he were healthy tonight don’t think there’s any chance Furphy would play anyways. He hasn’t played a minute of college bball and unlike Braylon his spot in the rotation is a little unclear so doubt we see him for awhile

The Braylon Flagg comparison is a joke, some of you need to pull it together and save that nonsense for the offseason.
Joke? Just my coaching expertise and watching basketball for 88 years.

Furphy matched up against Dybantsa a few times and shut him down pretty well. Furphy has good defensive instincts. He was strong against AJ and forced him into a bad shot.
I mean sure. But a handful of possession against a kid this summer v an upperclassman not coming off an injury who has more than a minute’s experience in college in terms of playing time?

Ironically Furphy, Koroma, Millender were all available last night but we used only Smith, Ross, Reibe for 13 min total. Not second guessing but Millender could have lent experience and Koroma could have helped rest Stewart/Ross
Koroma's foot speed looks way to slow to be defending wings, and especially one of AJD's caliber.

Noteworthy sighting behind Jaylin Stewart here in the full picture when you expand

Hurley said that freshman Braylon Mullins (ankle) continues to be impressive in his recovery and has been running on the court, shooting and moving around. The coach noted that Mullins, a five-star recruit, could be ready to go for one of the Huskies' big upcoming non-conference games.

Did you really think fairly average low D1 transfers were going to get minutes against a top 10 team? They are emergency-to-emergency options. No knock on either, as they seem like really good teammates, and they work hard. But Tarris is going to 30 minutes/gm, and Reibe will have the rest. We have two talented point guards who will eat all of those minutes. If there is a major foul trouble situation, I'd imagine we'd go small up front with AK at the 5 (especially with Ross playing so well) and Stew at the four before Koroma sees much run. I don't really see any way, barring something really unforeseen, that Millender gets any minutes. They were brought here as veteran insurance and practice guys. That's what they'll be.

I would put the Euro guys in that role of practice and break glass not necessarily Koroma and Millender.

It’s not like Smith and Stewart were on their A game anyway.

There's a reason Koroma's played at the schools he has, and why Stew was seemingly a potentially hot portal commodity. If Koroma or especially Millender play meaningful minutes, then we have injuries or things have really, really gone wrong. That's not a knock on them. Just the reality. Millender scored 8/gm for a 10-22 team and was a DII guy for four years prior. He's not going to come in and be a press breaker or secret weapon. It's bad enough we had people clamoring for more Singare minutes last year, and he's now a bench guy on High Point.

Simple fact is that Smith and Stew's C game is probably still better than the A game of our deep bench guys. Let's get back to reality.

I actually thought that Millender could have helped break the press in the second half. Hurley has spoken very highly of him. Once again, actions speak louder than words. We saw what Hurley thinks by his choices last Saturday.
