Injury update on Mullins and Furphy from Borges

.-.
We got to Gampel early and I thought I saw Furphy in early warm ups. If it was him, he looked pretty god in the layup line
I think one of the reporters mentioned he saw Furphy warming up when he asked Hurley about the injury updates (it’s always hard to hear what the reporters are actually saying).

Walking wounded updates:Braylon Mullins is progressing well. "People at his level of athlete tend to recover a little quicker. He's such an elite athlete. Without pushing him, I think he's recovering well."Jacob Furphy was close to being available Monday night, but had a setback after he "pushed a little too hard." He "may be in the mix" for BYU on Saturday.Tarris Reed Jr. is no longer on a minutes restriction.

UConn could be getting at least one of its freshmen back from injury with Australian wing Jacob Furphy returning to live practice this week. Hurley said he will be a game-time decision on Saturday, though it isn’t clear how much he will impact the rotation.

Braylon Mullins, the preseason Big East Freshman of the Year also dealing with an offseason ankle injury, seems to be ahead of schedule in his recovery: “He’s recovering well. Next week I think will be a big week for him to ramp things up, he’s healed nicely,” Hurley reported Friday.

Hoping Mullins will be back in action by Florida game . He can be the difference maker for the team in March.

If we can get a DUB this weekend w/o Braylon and he can come back full strength, not too early and risking re-injury, that would be HUGE. Get these other wings some big time game prep while letting him heal.

Just having him as a threat to shoot on the wing is a huge plus. We have shooters without him, but with him we have SHOOTERS.

Thinking they would like to get Mullins back perhaps for Sunday against Bryant to get him a few minutes of game action before the Illinois game. Not sure if that is possible, but I am sure that's the hope.
UConn announced on 10/24 he'd be out about 6 weeks. The Bryant game would be a little over 4 weeks. So if he comes back then and is looking good then we should consider ourselves very lucky. A fast healer as his father said.

What is the actual injury though? They said 6 weeks but it’s not a high ankle sprain. There’s no sign of a boot or anything on his ankle, and he’s been wearing a knee brace. The whole thing is very confusing

Hurley wouldn't say. He evaded the question.

But beat villanova by 6.

My belief is that we are at least 6 points better than villanova

What kind of injury is a SHOW MORE?
That’s a link to X - Jacob Furphy was close to being available Monday night, but had a setback after he "pushed a little too hard." He "may be in the mix" for BYU on Saturday.

Even if he were healthy tonight don’t think there’s any chance Furphy would play anyways. He hasn’t played a minute of college bball and unlike Braylon his spot in the rotation is a little unclear so doubt we see him for awhile

The Braylon Flagg comparison is a joke, some of you need to pull it together and save that nonsense for the offseason.
