Injury update for UConn vs Creighton

I'd hold them both out until they are absolutely 100%.......in addition to getting them physically ready for the tournaments to come, it gives Geno more time to see what other combinations he likes going forward and gives Allie and Jana more playing time to work on their games....

We tend to think shoulders are simple things. Nope, not even close.
Indeed.. legs can be stabilized in several ways, and physical therapy works well. But shoulders...by their very nature, they're unstable. They have to rotate in all sorts of ways, and when healing from a tear or pull, tend to freeze up, as with my now relatively useless right shoulder. It's surgery or to heck with it.

No word on carol?
She is always day to day. While she’s much improved, she still gets migraines

The importance of getting and keeping Blanca healthy for the Big Dance can not be overstated. Looking at some of the long, athletic teams like TX, SC, LSU and UCLA, having a second athletic forward like Blanca to pair up with Sarah will be critical for the Huskies in winning #13. Both Sarah & Blanca are matchup nightmares.

Whatever time Blanca misses during the remainder of the BE season is relatively unimportant. She’s played enough basketball with this team to regain her timing quickly. Hopefully, Blanca is back on the court starting Saturday, or soon thereafter, for the remainder of the season.

I just want Blanca to be really healed, and if she stays out another game so be it. We will need her later, and one of the advantages in this league is that you can rest players whenever you want because of the low threat from the other teams. Sad to say, but true.

I had rotor cuff surgery last year. Six weeks in a sling and six months of rehab. Nasty painful rehab. In the end my shoulder ended up as good as new. Things would have to be pretty bad before I'd have that procedure done again.

I know it’s hard to let go but it really seems like it might be time for Caroline to consider stepping away from basketball. Can only imagine how damaging another blow to the head could be for her. Maybe a career in coaching?

To rest Sarah and Blanca is the smart thing to do for the both ladies and the team.

UConn can survive the remainder of the regular season without both. The team has the players to step up and fill in the void. It builds the depth needed for the torunaments - BE and NCAA.
