Indy trip … who’s going and should I?

Well, it's certainly not a hotbed of UConn support like the Hartford area is.
Disagree. Fairfield county isn’t all Greenwich/Darien. There are places like Norwalk/Stamford/Danbury that a lot of UConn alumni come from. As UConn continues to become a better school I bet you see more of the ultra wealthy towns send kids to storrs.

"that’s because of Fairfield County - and they don’t think of themselves as part of the state"

Where you getting that idea? Not true.
I get that idea from living in Fairfield County. No UConn fans near me. And they do not send their kids to UConn.

Points is that ticket prices are insane, as is airfare. Most people can’t afford these trips routinely.

Flying direct to Cinci from CA and driving from there. For the East coast folks, yesterday I was seeing 1-stop flights to CVG from HPN/LGA/JFK/EWR for around $450 RT (Saturday - Tuesday/Wednesday).

You’re right. I’m really referring to the Gold Coast of Greenwich, Darien, Westport, New Canaan, etc. the people that can afford these types of trips routinely.

There are plenty of Uconn alumni who grew up in Fairfield County and they do send their kids there.

I am a Uconn grad who grew up in Fairfield County and live there now. Both my kids were accepted at Uconn. One went there, the other went to a different school to play a sport.

No Uconn fans in Fairfield County? - trains are packed with Uconn fans when Uconn is playing at MSG. I realize some of theses are people from upstate who drive to New Haven for the train but there are many Fairfield County Uconn fans as well.

Anyone know any details on hotels and official Uconn bars in Indy?
There are a few hotels close to the venue and I would suspect the teams are staying in one of these downtown: JW Marriott Indianapolis, Indianapolis Marriott downtown, The Westin Indianapolis, Omni Serverin Hotel, and Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.

They all seem sold out so staying at a Hilton 15 minutes away which isn't terrible. Doing the Bradley to Dayton flight and then driving as well.

If any husky donors or anyone is interested in selling their allotment or tickets, please DM me as I'm looking for a pair.

Airfare to IND out of DFW is through the roof. May fly into Midway and rent a car... But will only be for Monday. Only upside of being in TX (re. the team) has been the opportunities to see them in the F4 and their time in the AAC - games against SMU & Houston, Conference championships in Fort Worth... Re. fans at the games - SDSU showed out like mad in '23 but Purdue surpassed that and easily had the bodies in '2024. Felt like UConn had the smallest contingent both years.
FYI - $394 round trip from DFW-IND leaving Mon returning Tuesday:

How are people planning on getting to Indy?
Happy to help find flights with your specific circumstances if you shoot me a DM - been helping people use points/miles as well as find best available pricing around them to get there. At this point, key is flying into a close airport to Indianapolis and either renting a car or ride share the rest of the way

We got 5 tickets together in the UConn section!

Blows my mind UConn would have the the smallest showing in a final four of SDSU, FAU and Miami. Where are all these SDSU fans coming from?
They were in Louisville for the E8 squeaker against Creighton the week before also.

They travel. I think the good weather gets to them.

I was hoping this would be the year I would finally go as I’m in Cincinnati, but the second hand ticket prices are too steep for my wallet. If I recall correctly from previous final fours, do fans of losing teams often sell the championship game tickets?

Monday night tix are usually cheap and plentiful. Not sure if that will hold if Illinois or Michigan is in the game. Regardless the market will 100% be softer on Monday than Saturday.

They do. That is the best time to get them. They get pretty low as it is a big arena and many of losing fans just want to leave and go home.

I dont know how it works at every school but UConn doesnt sell the game for the Finals unless we win. I assume there is a batch of files released at some point by the schools/NCAA

I am in with 3 UConn '88-'89 grads. 3 from the UConn Crazed County of Fairfield.

Making my 8th F4 trip!!!

Anyone keeping the streak alive?

I have been to the final four multiple times and the seats are very easy to get at low prices especially Sunday morning after the games on Saturday. Just don't by right after the games on Saturday as those prices will drop a lot more on Sunday.

7th Final Four for my brother and I. We just missed '99. I was poor then but living close in Atlanta as just moved there in 1998. My brother lives in Oakland so he has normally flown into the game site but once flew into Atlanta as we drove to Houston in 2011 together. I'm driving solo this year and meeting him in Indy.

People. Check Breeze Airways. Much cheaper to Columbus.

What section? If I can't get any from donors on here with extras I want to buy as close to the UConn section as possible.
I don't know yet. My friend is in charge of it and all he knows is the 5 tix are together in the UConn section. I'll let you know as soon as he finds out.

I just called and of course I was told to call back tomorrow but most likely nothing to be sold to General Public. I did get the UConn sections for those interested. 136-139 lower bowl and section above that is 236-240.
