I'm here in NYC and I'm assuming our TZ will get first viewing, although this may not be true. However no matter when you see it, what are your impressions of this first episode?

May someone please post the episodes here. I do not have HBO, and I would love to see it.

I can't find it on my HBO Now...anyone else?

.-.
Geno just said Stewie's I wanna included four MVPs as well as 4 Nat'l Chmpionships!

Kia had a photo shoot with Glamour??? Yes. Was it published yet?

It's a good un alright. Took us right through the last regular season game. next Episode - AAC tourney. First rate. Course we are spoiled - seen a lot of this with SNY's great programs. Other teams' fans seeing this kind of coverage would blow their minds. We are the luckiest fans in the sports world.

Probably because we see so much video of the team and listen to so much Auriemma, I think it will be hard for the ESPN video to really blow away hard-core fans, including BYers. So my reaction to Part One: It was very well-filmed and beautifully edited. But it was not all that. I did not think it hung together very well. The segments in the practice gym and locker room showed that Geno sure knows how to make a speech, but I did not feel that by the end I had seen any light -- at least not any new light -- shed on how Geno and crew do what they do.

An aside: I think the name Chong got mentioned once during the hour which, given her role in producing the team's record to date, is a disservice.

Man. Barely a mention of Pheesa the entire first episode. How's that happen?
Apparently they decided early in the season that the leader would be Lou, backed up by Gabby. It's about time they shifted gears and realized that they're all stars. But overall a great show, at least for Uconn fans and little girls, except for the 1st minute or so and the leaving out Pheesa. Which I trust they will correct.

Just watched it. Wonderful.

Progress from Baylor to ND to MD to SC. . . .

Also progress by Geno, from clean shaven to scraggly beard and back to clean shaven, BUT. . . now with a distinct part in his hair!

Pheesa under the radar.

Stay tuned.:)

I agree with those who have said that it is well done, but if you're not a UCONN fan you would be hard pressed to know that Pheesa is a part of the team.

They included a minute or two about Monday night's game and showed KLS taking a three and didn't mention Collier's 39. Oh well in the spirit of team it doesn't really matter, but Pheesa should be more than a footnote IMO.

My guess is that Napheesa was being Napheesa, which means quiet, at least initially. If the producers picked up on that, they probably turned to Kia and Gabby, both of whom have bigger personalities.

I suspect someone is fine tuning that radar even as we speak. It would be embarrassing to have an AA never mentioned.

Several random thoughts on the 1st episode:

- Adult Language (AL) warning at the beginning of the show. I wonder who they are talking about?
- I love Danger's dad's advice to her after the Baylor game, "Stay humble and hungry."
- Lou can't cook.
- Great scene with CD getting right in Geno's face during the MD game to keep him from getting T'd up.
- In addition to the tattoo on her shoulder, it appears Gabby also has tattoos on both calves.
- Geno likes to listen to Bob Seeger's "Turn the Page," on the road. Excellent traveling song.
- I'm a little disappointed with the BY, as I had to learn that Kia did a photo shoot for Glamour Magazine from HBO. You guys need to get on the ball.
- I wish the show wasn't on after my bedtime.

I don't think the narrator even mentioned Napheesa's name. I get that perhaps she is not the most loquacious player so there are not many clips of her being interviewed but come on. They went through the entire regular season. How could the team's best player not even be mentioned? The player who lead the team in scoring and rebounding in more games than anyone else? The steadiest player on the team. I don't get it. If that was someone's introduction to UConn women's basketball you would think she was not even a major contributor. smh

I really enjoyed it,but I think for someone who does not follow the team as much, it's only highlighting the streak, It leaves out; Gabby had a big game for ND, Crystal had a big game for Baylor, Collier had a big game, Lou had a big game..... it would have made more sense as to how it was done...it just glossed over the actual games too much.

As geno said, its up to the team how far they want hbo to go with the personal stuff. Maybe collier wants her privacy and likes flying under the radar.
As for the show it's very well done and i like how they added "turn the page"

A bit strange. Lots of Geno, Gabby, Kia, Chris and Katie Lou; some of Crystal, zero of Pheesa. The action footage was disappointing. Interviews were vacuous. The camerawork was jerky. Geno came across as a bit of a mystic - lots of scenery chewing, as they say. Also, the first episode takes the season from preseason to almost the present, so a lot of territory was skimpily covered.

The players were engaging. There was a charming scene near the beginning where seemingly the whole team met at Gabby's and Kia's apartment for a group dinner. Katie Lou got an inordinate amount of screen time, to my mind. Liev Schreiber's narration tone was credible.

Personalities aside, the true charm of this year's team is its stunning ball movement, efficient inside play and aggressive defense, none of which came across in the episode. A few feeds and a few outlets were shown, but to nowhere near the effect they could have been.

There is to be another new episode next Wednesday, same time, so maybe they've delve a little more into actual game play with less time to cover.

All in all, I'd rate it a C. Lacking, but acceptable.
