Yeah, and the fact we had no running game, something we were actually good at from 2007-10. Brilliant move to demote the guy who produced 6 All-BE linemen. You can keep throwing Chandler (and Scott) under the bus all you want. It was the coaching.

I'm not throwing anybody under the bus. I'm saying that at the end of the day, players gotta make plays, and while the coaches have clearly made some mistakes, I have yet to see some irrefutable proof that Edsall or anybody else besides Nick Saban could turn this group of players into a great team. Yes, we had a great running game from 2007 to 2010. We also had Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon. I like McCombs, but he is neither of those two. We also had a great O-line. A bigger O-line, you might even notice.

I'm just not convinced that 100% of the blame goes to scheme. Given the amount of missed kicks, BS fumbles, dropped passes and picks, poor decisions, and all around lack of players making plays, I believe that this is a team where there is plenty of blame to go around. You can put it on Pasqualoni all you want, but if you can look at this team and see a bevy of BCS talent, then I don't know what to tell you.

When you have undisputedly one of least productive offenses in college football, either the players are horrid or the coaching and schemes are horrid. Based on the fact we had a previously productive back, an NFL caliber tight end, an average QB, some WR hands, and an Oline that performed significantly better the prior year, all roads lead in one primary direction. This isn't a few bad breaks. This is malpractice given we remained in numerous games that were winnable with only an average O performance.

Or maybe they're both pretty bad. It's not an either/or situation. Yes, we had ONE NFL caliber tight end. That does not an offense make. You need an O-line. We had none. We missed Moe Petrus and Mike Ryan real bad this year. It ain't the same guys. I'm sorry, but you are not paying attention if you think this year's O-line and last year's O-line were on the same talent level. Given a new QB, a new O-line, and new WR's, I am not at all shocked out that our offense underperformed.

And given all that, we were STILL a missed kick away from bowl eligibility.

Look, we are arguing about something painfully obvious. If Uconn put up the 80th best offense, our record changes by probably 2-3 games to the plus. They were so bad, a top 10 defense could not influence wins. You can't be the 118th worst offense out of 121 and expect to have a job. Sorry, P and GDL are cancer to an already severely weakened program. Warde is weak and lacks the fortitude to do what is needed, more concerned about his own welfare.

Don't you think coaching has something to do with missed kicks....fumbles....dropped passes...picks? How about burning the red shirt of a freshman RB...then playing him only on special teams? Meanwhile your running game struggles with your 160 lb. back and you never try the 200 pound true freshman at RB? He is good enough to burn the redshirt and plan on special teams, but not good enough to try at RB?

Like everyone has said throughout this thread...UConn's offense just needed to be bad...not awful to make a bowl against an easy schedule. The bad play calling, decisions and schemes made this offense awful this year. Not lack of talent.
