Times Square is surrounded by the finest group of theaters in the country, many believe the world. It's packed because thousands and thousands of people descend on it every night to watch hundreds of world class actors in dozens of incredible plays.

It does not objectively suck unless you're looking for a bar with a DJ.

It’s also surrounded by the finest Elmo’s.

Austin is a dump these days.

I used to be a huge fan of Austin but be honest about what it has become.

This seems to happen in places where the cost of housing rises quickly and many people aren't riding the tech wave to rising incomes to keep pace with housing. San Francisco went through this. Haven't been there recently to tell you if it's still as bad as it was.

Portland, Denver, San Fran, NY, etc. Do they all suck too? If you look past that part, and I do acknowledge that part of it, Austin is a very cool university driven city.
