If you could have any OOC game on our schedule

When I think of questions like this, I always think about the teams that are the most overrated high-profile teams. Teams that you have an increased chance to beat but that still can create a national buzz when you beat them. So the first two choices that sprung to mind are:

Notre Dame
Florida State

I would also probably add a Miami to that list, along with Virginia Tech. Perhaps even an Oklahoma State, an Arizona State, or an Oregon State. A team from the SEC is always worth a punch at, like an Arkansas or Ole Miss. All of these teams would serve to help elevate our profile with a win, and I don't believe that beating the aforementioned teams would be all that earth-shattering (hell, we've already beaten ND and South Carolina!)...

Excellent point. Notre Dame, FSU, Miami, and Va Tech are ALWAYS incredibly overrated at the beginning of each season. OU usually is too but that would bring up sore memories for our fanbase playing them again. Miami stinks and Va Tech is always good for a bowl game loss.

Sooner or later Notre Dame will want to even the score with us on the grid iron. That might be another good Gillette stadium game. Screw playing football in a baseball stadium. If everyone is so hell bent on playing football in the preeminent pro sports city on the planet then at least can it be in a pro football stadium and not that dump the Yankees built?

If Notre Dame wants to "even the score with us on the gridiron", then let's see if they can beat us on UConn's home field - which is Rentschler Field not Gillette or Yankee Stadium.

Preferred opponents:

Penn State (they'll be back big time unquestionably). This is the rivalry (home and home) that would really benefit UConn football.
Florida
Texas
Southern Cal

I'd be happy with most of the ones listed above. Would love it if we could avenge the Fiesta bowl!

I know UCLA is not a football powerhouse, but I would love to see our team play in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Maybe if we get in the B1G we'll get our chance to play there in the postseason. OK, dream over.

I had a similar thought about UCLA. Probably just because I want to hear Brent Musberger do a UConn game... :D

First off these need to be home and homes in my dream world. None f this home game in Gillette or Meadowlands garbage. Play at the Rent and we play at your stadium.

BC
Penn State (got family in State College and grew up a PSU fan so easy trip)
Oregon (as long as they play the same style of football they did under Kelly)
WVU
Rutgers

I agree 100% but you know and I know that will never happen until UConn is a perennial top 25 team.

In no particular order of preference or importance.
Boston College: Perfect New England/North Eastern rival. Have the game either Labor Day weekend or Thanksgiving Day weekend.
Penn State: BiG school and fertile recruiting grounds.
Notre Dame: The obvious storied program and game will be on national TV. I would like a long-term deal on this one. 6 to 10 games.
Rutgers: Same reason as Boston College except with better recruitment area.
Syracuse/Pittsburgh: Would like to package a football and basketball series with these two schools.
ACC Schools: Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech. Good recruiting area and all the schools are on the East Coast.
Dream schools: Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, and Florida.
West coast schools: I would stay away from the western schools unless the deal was too good to be true.

I also would really like to see us play Iowa, Ferentz is a UCONN grad I'm suprised a series hasn't been set up before. They also recruit heavy in New England for some odd reason. I'm suprised this hasn't been set up earlier. Oh and I've been to Iowa City, just saw Princeton review named it the nations #1 Party school, it is an awesome place.

Anything that gets Gameday to come to a UConn game.

Any schedule without Buffalo is a success ;) , rather have UMass

FCS (once in a while like every 3-7 years one team): Villanova, Yale,New Hampshire, Delaware, Albany, Harvard

FBS (a top-team from each conference, bottom feeders, and middle of the pack to top): Cuse, Pitt, RU, Ohio State, Penn State, UMass ,UCLA, Nebraska, Illinois, Texas (that'd be awesome), Miami-FL, Kentucky, Georgia, Michigan State, and Notre Dame

Teams I'd pay good money for:
UCLA
Miami-FL
Georgia
Texas

Overall, I'd probably would love to play Texas :)

BCU Thanksgiving weekend. Every year.

Should UConn be rescued from purgatory- UConn in the ACC, play Rutgers in NYC every year to start the season and BC or Syracuse (prefer Syracuse; but BC is a better and closer bet going forward) every Thanksgiving. Flip if UConn ends up in the B1G.

Alabama.

Straight-up curiosity. Would UConn score?

How about send 100 native UConn fans dressed-up in Auburn’s colors and drop them off at Bryant–Denny for the Iron Bowl. How many would survive?
