He went into the Men's Transfer Portal... Was in Bridgeport Prep CT then UMass.
210lbs...long legs and arms. Easy dunks and blocks..

He’d be 4th string center this year and then 3rd string next year. He’ll probably be looking for more playing time at a similar level conference

Getting someone who only has 3 years left and will 100% be riding the bench for at least one if not two years is probably a waste for UConn, and unlikely to be what a player in that situation wants anyway.

If we're going to take on a developmental player, I feel like a reclass or Spring enrollment redshirt candidate like Karaban is the way to go. Get them early exposure to the system without wasting the eligibility.

Most players that tall are awful. I haven't ever seen him play but a averaging 1 PPG and 1 RPG at UMass doesn't inspire me. Those are Ryan Mutombo numbers.

Hurley has long said he won't fill scholarships just for the sake of it.

I trust the staff knows what they need.

We have Singare as a project big already… why have 2 projects? Because he’s tall?

Isn't that what Hurley basically did with Yarin Hasson? He came to UConn in late August just to fill a scholarship.

Eh I feel like the staff suspected he might be talented but flew under the radar (which sometimes happens with European guys). Majok clearly isn't a high-D1 player.

Yeah not buying that at all. He committed to Denver, which I think is D2, before coming to UConn. UConn only had 11 scholarship players in late August. You need to have enough players to practice and Hasson is 6-9 which is taller than any walk-ons they could get. There's always been this assumption that Hurley took him with some kind of understanding that he told Yarin he could practice against the best players and get better. And then move on. Which he did.

No, they knew he was bad, but it was just a one year deal.

I hope our last scholarship/s are used on sneaky euro projects like Hasson or Roumoglou. Or preferably bring Roumoglou back if he’s open to it.

I go to a few UMass games every year. He didn’t even look good in warm ups. He won’t even get one second of a thought by our staff.
