The #3 team would have 7 losses. Ranking system might need to be tweaked.
 
Man its just the way college basketball is this year. TONS of average teams. If we can gain some steam heading into the tourney we have just as much of a chance as the top 10 teams.
 
They're not going to be ranked #3 if they have 7 losses on Monday. So... this is a weird thing to say.

BTW, they're also #3 on kenpom. It's just a weird year.
 
Ranked teams losing left and right and just get reshuffled around while we beg to get in the hallowed club.

Is that what this is about? People haven't argued that we deserve to be ranked in weeks.
 
There are only 2 teams in the top 25 with less than 4 losses and those are nova and xavier with 3 losses

Everyone else has 4-7 losses with 2 teams who have more than 7 losses.

Exactly. These kind of years always make for a crazy tournament. I think the committee will have a tough time seeding the field this year. Its all about the matchups and I think we can make some noise if things break in our favor.

Weird statement...who would you rank ahead of them? These are undoubtedly 2 of the best teams in the country playing tonight.

I sure hope so but I haven't seen any signs that we can go on a sustained run.
 
Not sayin' we're some kind of juggernaught but we're probably equal to a bunch of ranked teams that stay in the top 25 week in and out with their losing.

to an extent you're right, but 2 things ive me hope. 1-we have been terribly unlucky in close games this year. yes, we've made some bad plays, but there has been some awful officiating. these things tend to balance out. 2-we are never out of a game. this team is so strong on D-generally-that if they just do that they'll have a chance.

now you wold like a better pg to really pull those close games out, but there is not a single team uconn cannot contend with. i think 6 in a row is out of the question, but the sweet 16 is entirely possible for this squad.

This was true when Valentine wasn't 100%. With him healthy I think Michigan State are a cut above everybody else.
 
would rather see UNC lose, don't want them to get a high seed in the tourney
 
Parity has come to the NCAA this year and not one team stands out. The ACC is overrated imho as is the Big East

Virginia is 7-1 against the top 25, and has the most wins against Top 25 teams in the country. It seems fairly appropriate to me.

Feel free to post that vid here when it happens so my great great grandkid's children will see it.

Dude..The ACC has 4 teams in the elite 8. Its a tough conference so you have to have losses. Enough with this same tired argument..
 
He's just trying on the newly found ability to brag about uva sports that aren't lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, tennis, etc.

Unfortunately (or not, depending on trolling perspective) this is about the worst possible team to try it out on. UVA's bball history is pretty much summed up with 2 words...Ralph Sampson
