what would you choose to rename the teams and why? Saw this over on a reddit thread and thought it was interesting and why. Try to incorporate something significant about the state, school region, etc

The groundhog would be a great mascot. They used to have a bunch of them living under the old brown frat houses on south campus

The Fighting Corneliuses, duh.

University of Connecticut Cats. About as generic and PC as your gonna get in this state. You can have your pick of mascots, lions, kitty cats, tigers, alley cats, cool cats, happy cats, angry cats, cartoon cats. The state is pretty much run by women now anyways so if your going to switch the mascot from a dog then what is more appropraiate than a cat? Besides, the football team plays like a bunch of ------- anyways so why not have a name that better represents. Yeah, that's a cheap, low blow shot but I'm tired of rooting for a team that doesn't represent the great state of Connecticut like it should be represented. Over the years the state and it's residents have ponied up quite a bit of cash for a D-1 football team and it's time they get what they paid for.

How many busch lights have you consumed today? Over / Under opens at 8.5.

Zero. I'm only trying to match the ridiculousness of the original post and making a point about the state of the state of Connecticut in 2018. Also, in my own way trying to light a fire in the hearts of the players to exceed expectations this year. I'm a die hard UConn Huskies fan and have been since the early 70's. I'm glad Ollie is gone yet hope he lands on good ground somewhere else. He's still a Husky and worked his tail off as a player here. I was angry with the way Edsall left. Not happy with his return but he came back for a song so I understand the why to it. But 3-9 last year? Ughh!! It's about time the fans get what they pay for.

Anyone miss me on this board?

Hello?

I'm just saying what a lot of other people are thinking but too afraid to say it themselves because they don't want to be ridiculed by a minority, yet overally vocal segment of the Connecticut community. Political correctness my ..... behind. Political correctness is the first step in conditioning the masses into same or one thinking.

Connecticut has literally one problem. It’s not political correctness.

(it’s the pension liability)

Thank you for lighting a fire under the players with these posts. They are probably in a team meeting now discussing them.
