If Our Mascot wasn’t a husky...

University of Connecticut Cats. About as generic and PC as your gonna get in this state. You can have your pick of mascots, lions, kitty cats, tigers, alley cats, cool cats, happy cats, angry cats, cartoon cats. The state is pretty much run by women now anyways so if your going to switch the mascot from a dog then what is more appropraiate than a cat? Besides, the football team plays like a bunch of ------- anyways so why not have a name that better represents. Yeah, that's a cheap, low blow shot but I'm tired of rooting for a team that doesn't represent the great state of Connecticut like it should be represented. Over the years the state and it's residents have ponied up quite a bit of cash for a D-1 football team and it's time they get what they paid for.

How many busch lights have you consumed today? Over / Under opens at 8.5.

Zero. I'm only trying to match the ridiculousness of the original post and making a point about the state of the state of Connecticut in 2018. Also, in my own way trying to light a fire in the hearts of the players to exceed expectations this year. I'm a die hard UConn Huskies fan and have been since the early 70's. I'm glad Ollie is gone yet hope he lands on good ground somewhere else. He's still a Husky and worked his tail off as a player here. I was angry with the way Edsall left. Not happy with his return but he came back for a song so I understand the why to it. But 3-9 last year? Ughh!! It's about time the fans get what they pay for.

Anyone miss me on this board?

Hello?

I'm just saying what a lot of other people are thinking but too afraid to say it themselves because they don't want to be ridiculed by a minority, yet overally vocal segment of the Connecticut community. Political correctness my ..... behind. Political correctness is the first step in conditioning the masses into same or one thinking.

Connecticut has literally one problem. It’s not political correctness.

(it’s the pension liability)

Thank you for lighting a fire under the players with these posts. They are probably in a team meeting now discussing them.

Connecticut Yankees. If it wasn't already legendary.
Connecticut Brewmasters.
Connecticut Schooners.

Off topic, but I really really wanted to see the Redskins renamed the Washington Regulators and perhaps one end zone could be deep state corner. Runner up name would be the Washington Lawmakers (but this hardly clever).

Arguably that's the biggest but it certainly isn't the only one.

I've always supported Warriors and revert the helmet artwork to the spear sported in the late 1960s.

Back on topic, If UConn were anything but the Huskies, I may seize being a fan. The word play is fantastic.

Think how cool the Unis could be if we were the Jalapeño MAC-n-Cheeses

How about the "Fighting Attack Subs"? At least then we'd have a reason for the gray alternate unis.

(Um, why does the sub have wheels?)

Connecticut Steamed Cheeseburgers

Connecticut Sperm Whales

Connecticut Praying Mantises

UConn Gambling Generals (gambling - casinos,
Generals - as all the tax money goes to the general fund)

Connecticut Bobcats, Connecticut Gray Wolves, Connecticut Lions. Bobcats are all over the place, and along with coyotes have evolved into a larger animal last hundred years to fill the void left by the killing off of gray Wolves and mountain lions, but they too are making a comeback all over New England.

Every one of these ideas are terrible, but this is particularly bad.
