This will be next year's title count over the past 10 years...

AAC- 3 (UConn 2004, UConn 2011, Louisville 2013)
ACC- 3 (UNC 2005, UNC 2009, Duke 2010)
SEC- 3 (Florida 2006, Florida 2007, Kentucky 2012)
Big 12-1 (Kansas 2008)
Big East- 0
PAC 12- 0
BIG10- 0

Just because your conference has tradition, ie. the BIG 10, doesn't mean you're all that great...numbers don't lie.

We are as elite a conference as anybody... as far as I'm concerned.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, this list encompasses all of seven teams. It does nothing to show the depth of the league. We are an elite program. Nobody can argue that. Tulane, Smu, and whoever else we have in the league are not.

Please define "elite".

You are right about one thing however, numbers don't lie. When 7 out of the 10 schools in the league next year are former Conference USA teams...

Lets just say I hope you mean "we" as in UConn, and not "we" as in the AAC.

No kidding.

The "AAC" at the moment has two titles and UConn won both of them.

So F the rest of our new conference 'friends'. They're scrapple.

The big 10 is the most overrated conference of all time. Their last title was pre 9/11. I really don't see what's so great about it.

Well, scrapple may originate from unsavory places, but it's delicious. To borrow from our PC friends' irrefutable style of argumentation, that's FACT.

The OP overstates his case for sure, but to the extent he's saying that from purely a basketball standpoint we're getting a bit overwrought with our sense of doom, I agree. I don't see any reason the conference can't be as good as the "new" Big East in short order. I also don't think it's at all clear - again, from a purely basketball standpoint - that the soon-to-be-poached ACC is a better option. The B1G is definitely a better option, but I think it's fair to point out that up until this year B1G basketball hasn't been enjoyable in style or results for quite awhile.

CCNY used to be elite. Who can forget Immaculata and Delta State in WBB? Or Philadelphia Textile and Alabama A&M in soccer?

Elite NCAA Men's BB programs (64+ era)
In no particular order:

Duke
UNC
UCONN
Cuse
Kentucky
Kansas
Michigan State

That's it, though Florida, Ohio State and Louisville are close.

Agreed. No sign of Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, or Ohio state. I'm sick of hearing how good they are. If Michigan wins, that's a different story. As of now, they are irrelevant since the fab 5
