I think you're reaching here. I would not take everything Hurley says so literally like you are doing.

It's such a vast statement, so Mets fans aren't arrogant about signing every FA themselves, how are Mets fans any different from Yankee fans.I thought I edited my post - it should say NOT becoming (or has become) just like the Yankee fan base
Calhoun left UConn under a bit of a cloud, but still a legend. He took a job at St Joseph's, and proved he was a bb magician.
Seton Hall has too many institutional impediments to success. Hurley would never leave Connecticut for Seton Hall.. The only exception would/could be coaching where he played for four years (Seton Hall?).

I took it to mean just if he somehow ended up somewhere else and that school really needed the exposure there maybe things would be differentI just saw a video of Hurley talking about the early season tournaments, and what he said was a bit odd.
paraphrasing: "I'm not interested in playing in one again, at least if I'm still at UConn."
If he gets an offer to coach in the pros, and leaves, I'll wish him all the luck in the world. I'm assuming that is what he was referring to. I can't imagine why he would ever leave for any other college position. There is no better college coaching position better than UConn. The only exception would/could be coaching where he played for four years (Seton Hall?).
Actually, yes. We made a pitch to the Big 12 in 2015/16 I believe lolWould anyone at UConn have been trying to get into the B12 6 years ago?
It’s stupid to devote even 1 second of thought to an offhanded comment like that. In fact I’m dumb for even replying to it.
"If I'm still at UConn"
Somehow, those words sound less daunting if I imagine them being sung by Hurley to the tune of "If I were a Rich Man" from fiddler on the roof.
If I were still at UConn
Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum
All day long, I'd yell at the refs
If I were a UConn man
I wouldn't get the bad calls
Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum
And I'd never get a tech,
if I were a UConn man.
Calhoun proved he was a bb magician at St Joseph's?
It's a shame that he wasn't able to prove that earlier in his career, and was under a cloud. But, thank goodness success came to him late.
Nice! You should've just gone with "and the opening of the game would be called a bris" and left it at that.and the firing of a coach would be called a bris. No more tip offs for you!
He already didI took it to mean he was speaking for himself, not for the university. He has sufficient clout that it won't happen while he's coaching. But he doesn't want to poison relationships between the university and Maui organizers.
Dan's a leader, he takes responsibility for things, even if he's not solely responsible.
I saw the hugs as more of a statement to them affirming they played the way he knows they can play and he was happy for them.Yeah I caught that reference. We are 9 games in and it feels longer than that with all the issues from Maui.
He made a comment that he was surprised by the reaction from everyone about his behavior in Maui.
Perhaps he has not liked the reaction of the fans and is growing tired of the negativity that we can all display
But that would be a bad take. The passion of this fan base in my opinion is one of the reason we were described as a sleeping giant to Calhoun before he took the job.
Who knows he is a very complex personality. But the way he hugged Samson and Mahaney kind of showed how much they have been talked about on social media and traditional media. He clearly loves his players.
People don’t mind hurley’s craziness as long as he does t cost the team that darn game in the final two minutes.I saw the hugs as more of a statement to them affirming they played the way he knows they can play and he was happy for them.
Reading this dumb thread is also the act of a foolUConn is CURRENTLY in that upper echelon ...
Burning bridges is the act of a fool. Politely decline future invites if they don't make sense at the time, but leave the option open for the future ...

He also kissed Samson, camera angle blocked a clear view but I'm assuming it was on his cheek cause I didn't notice a hickey lol.I saw the hugs as more of a statement to them affirming they played the way he knows they can play and he was happy for them.
