Not sure how Danny feels about transfers but this kid could be a potential spring back up plan to mitchell/wahab/kofi

I feel like there may be some drama with this guy. I'm trusting Dan to get a better catch. I want some Kofi

Saddiq Bey also left NC State prior to the 18-19 season. That tells me it could be a coaching issue more than a player issue.

Bey decommited from NC State earlier this year and has averaged 12 pts 5 reb so far for Nova. Kid looks good.

We don’t have an open scholarship, and this kid has had decommitment/transfer fever since HS. He’s got a lot of talent, but I highly doubt we’d show interest.

Would this open up NC States recruiting for any of our targets? Kofi, Akok, Mitchell and Wahab in particular?

in theory yes, but given NCST's roster attrition over the last couple seasons and the school's involvement in the adidas scandal, it doesn't seem like an attractive place. At least not relative to the schools we're already competing with for those big men, e.g. pitt, gtown, syracuse, kansas, etc.

i obviously would rather take any (and hopefully two) of wahab, akok, mitchell and cockburn. But if we only get one or (gulp) none, then why not consider steere? Especially when UConn already offered him a scholarship before.

I don’t think this is worth worrying about.

I’d guess he’ll stay at NC State....who leaves because they’re irked about playing time after one game?

Then again, he went to about four high schools and was committed to Creighton at one point.

Something stinks if a guy quits after one game. Either it is a problem with him, or the coaching staff. I trust Hurley, he knows what he is doing.

I don't see Hurley going the transfer route. It got to the point with Ollie where he couldn't field a team and would scramble around to try and patch something together with tranfers. It's a new day, recruiting won't be a problem.

I would agree, but I suspect if it’s a guy he previously recruited he may go that route. Not sure he wants guys who have to sit a year at this point though.

Have Purvis talk to him about how cool it is to leave NC State for UConn. Or is considered a booster?

A coach should never use this phrase again...

Rodney was a really great player for us, but quotes like that made his expectations way too high for most fans, myself included. This is for a kid that made the NBA. Just cruel
My tongue was planted firmly in my cheek.

Maybe bring in Ian Steere's dad as a strength coach.
