This is also why I want him closer to the rim. There is no bad shot for him the closer he gets. Especially coming off the baseline.
I just don't think he's a good enough playmaker and dribbler to get himself in that position. I'm ok with him staying out on the arc if he takes good shots.

Am I the only one that is seeing that Bazz keeps passing up good, open jump shots?

This is not a knock on Bazz. I love how he is distributing the ball this season... it's unreal. However, I can't help but notice that sometimes, he has a great look and will pump fake and drive to kick it back out to a shooter. This usually isn't bad but sometimes those shooters don't have as good as a look as he did. I understand what he's trying to do but sometimes it just doesn't seem worth it to pass up a great look with a player as good as Bazz. There were also a few times today where he did the same thing except instead of kicking it back out, forced a well-contested floater or lay-up.

Anyways, I don't really see this as a problem. Bazz will know when to take over a game later in the season if need be. It would just be nice to see him take some of those open looks from time to time. Can't question someone who's pretty much averaging a triple dub though.

Edit: only reason why I posted in this thread was because we were on the topic of passing up good looks.
He's been like that for a while now. He's an odd player because of how consistently different his first and second halves are. First half he'll be almost entirely focused on distributing, including giving up what look like good shots. Second half, he almost always seems to be in total scoring mode, including taking a bunch of shots that look a little more forced (though he does make them at a good clip). It's not necessarily bad as I think he's incredibly valuable either way, but it's just very strange that he's such a different player at different times.

He was good enough last year.
His movement is much improved this year.

Calhoun is almost strictly a catch and shoot player at this point. When he puts the ball on the deck, bad things happen alot. He is clumsy with the ball, dribbles into traps often, and overall exercises poor judgement while on the dribble. Until that changes, he needs to do 3 things on offense:

1. Catch and Shoot.
2. Pump fake, Space Dribble, pull-up.
3. Cut to rim, receive dime, finish.

In this way he is sort of a smaller and more reliable/consistent version of Stanley Robinson

So, the Calhoun we saw last year is never to be seen again? Even though he had surgery to improve mobility?

I do agree Calhoun and Giffey desperately need to work on ball handeling, but Calhoun is a borderline elite set shooter(stix wasn't)... He also operates around the rim with great touch. Kromah is different than omar and giff: he's a less shooter , but much better athlete and ball handler. Moreover, People are complaining about how Ollie is distributing minutes are just dumb, he's still trying to get a rotation down.

Kind of agree, I wish Napier had fewer. Aside from that I'm pretty happy with the minutes Ollie has set.

Hence why I called Omar a "better/more consistent Stanley". But yes.
