As an announcer Gottlieb was a whiny , who subtracted from the game's presentation. He only belongs on the public access channel on a cable tv network.
Any complaints about last years title game can be forward to the Selection Committee. They placed Ohio State, UNC, Kentucky, Duke, UConn, San Diego State, Arizona, and Texas all in the same regions and same side of the bracket for the national semis.
On the other side was Pitt, Kansas, and.....ummm....Notre Dame? Florida was pretty good. Eh, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, ummm...who else? And of course Pitt and Kansas have had recent history of being upset. The committee ensured due to sloppy seeding that when Pitt and Kansas were upset, there was a huge drop off in whichever team made the title game on that half of the bracket.
The committee has screwed up several times before. Everyone knew in 2004 that UConn and Duke were the 2 best teams and should have been bracketed for the finals. Instead they met in the semis and the title game was a snooze.
Oh well, we still beat Butler to a drum. Ask Syracuse if that was easy to do. You forget the 2010 Sweet 16 so soon?
