They had gruck. A combination of grit and pluck that is unique to Syracuse.

Just you watch - they may win a game or two before the year is out. I'm calling it now.

Just not in March.

I don't think you're giving Cuse - and especially Boeheim - enough credit. Jim took his team all the way to MSG for that non-conference showdown against Temple.

Not every coach can take his team to the Elite Eight once every seven years like Boeheim has, or win the national championship on the back of one of the best freshman ever. That's the stuff of legends.

They lacked a degree of grittiness, this evening, though.

It is my belief that their grittiness deficit is what ended up costing them this game.
Maybe. I thought their pluckiness would make up for it. Guess I was wrong.

Correction. According to their educated fans, this was "UConn's championship game this year". So we actually have 4 national championships to our credit.

And I thought our national championship over Butler was easy!!

In fairness, it's not easy for a bunch of 6'9'' guys with 8 foot wingspans to gameplan against the backdoor lobs we throw to our 5'8'' point guard and "Air Germany" Giffey.

That was embarrassing. They didnt lose their man, they lost their mind.

Air Germany, love it.

This is the 'yard I knew and loved. Hall of Fame thread.
Pin it to top of board for remainder of season so our Syracuse friends ( who can't get enough of lurking) know how much esteem we hold for their plucky, gritty squad of over achievers. Go cuse! I'm rooting for the little guy the rest of way!
