I like KY tonight against Baylor

Almost went to 5 OT, that three was close.
Damn close!! I'm thinking the men's teams all jumped up and down at the same time to shake it out of the basket

80 personal fouls by both teams, blows away old record of 64.

Baylor dressed 12, but were down to last five, had two players on the court with 4 so couldn't foul or they would have had to play with 4 players. (A player or two didn't make the trip, who wudda guessed they needed them, instead they played Prince, who hasn't played a minute before today)

And how many teams will ever be able to say they had 96 points worth of players foul out of a game?

I watched but that was total crap as far as fun basketball to watch. Geno would quit if his team ever played like these 2. If Mitchel thinks that's an improved offense he is sorely mistaken. Uconn's guards would eat Mulkeys daughter for lunch. When is the last time a guard had 41 against Uconn?

So what did we learn?

For me the main thing is: how much finer a game our kids play the result of superior coaching.
Lot's of talented kids on the floor tonight, for the most part playing variations of one-on-one
Definitely not beautiful BB. Full credit to Geno.

Fouls can kill; Geez, Baylor fouled out more players than we have (almost). And yes, it could happen to us.

Sims is one heck of a scorer as is that Jennifer kid from the Bronx (the very place I ltook my first shots…PS 94 and JHS 80).

We should beat these guys reasonably handily but the amount of talent that Mitchell has is staggering.

Kim coached a good game.and almost pulled it out.

Yeah if Robertson had fouled when they needed someone to foul, they would have had 119 points fouled out on the bench.

If you like offense its a great game.
Actually, it's not offense, it's a lack of defense.

More like, if you like scoring.......

Fun game to watch for sure.

Both technical were bad decisions, both disputing good calls.

Add Prince to this game and Baylor wins. Can hardly wait for her to return.

Sims had 6 turnovers in her first 6 games. She had 8 in her 7th.

60 fouls in the game and 60 made freethrows. I wonder if that is a record? And not over yet.

Might be:

I don't know if it's a dumb question but does anyone know what would happen if one team has players foul out to the point of not being able to put 5 on the floor. For example, if UCONN's 6 player rotation from yesterday was in a game like this, there would most likely not be enough players...

I have twice played in games with less than five on the floor. You play on short handed.

Great game. I was rootin' for Baylor to win, I actually find KM very entertaining to watch on the sideline. :p

What an entertaining game. It was not an artistic masterpiece and, as someone said earlier, it makes you appreciate the techniques that Geno teaches. But man, you couldn't ask for two better-matched teams and more up-and-down-the-court action. Wish it could have gone on for one more OT.

In a listing I looked at earlier today, they had Kentucky listed as the home team. Evidently, an error. If it is a neutral court, the game would be a toss up.
Looks like the Sagarin ratings were fairly accurate in this game.

Not necessarily! Each game is a separate entity. I have seen back ups have great games and starters have subpar ones. If you have a subpar starter playing it negates the possibility of the back up to have a great game. Using your rational once Sims fouled out Kentucky should have dominated the rest of the game. But the game went into four overtimes despite her absence. Many times clutch shots made and games are won by reserves who have good games.

Why in the world, at the end of regulation, 7+ seconds or so left, with his team up by 3 and BU taking out the ball, didn't UK foul? Let them run some clock to half court and foul. 2 shots, and it's essentially done. Instead, they let BU get off a 3 from the corner to tie it. Matthew Mitchell, I just don't understand that one...

Too many missed lay ups. Not enough scoring. Gotta lower the rims...
