I know tonight was a loss, but in triple overtime, without our Center and Point Guard with minutes left in the first half. We played with a lot of heart and drive. We should be proud of UCONN! As for ND. I am glad we will not have to face them next year. Diggins running to the fans and giving high fives during the game was classless...

We can't shut her up.

That was a disgraceful performance in the last minute of regulation through the ots. Stop.

Proud? Proud?!!! Are you fn kidding me? Proud?! Moving screen 90 feet from the basket, poof our center fouls out. Is that something to be proud of? Up 6 with a minute to go in both first overtimes and they just give it away. Three straight misses on front ends of one and one. THEY DID NOT WANT TO WIN THIS GAME! Proud?

I'm proud of them. And a lot of us are. You don't have to be.

Yep. Right there with the choke job of the mens team last week against Georgetown. Love these teams but what the heck is wrong with UConn the last two years. Too many games they should have won (Temple, NC State, USF in football) along with these games in hoops. Just can't afford this right now with conference mess.

I am quite certain that they wanted to win the game. I am disappointed that they did not, and I am sure that each one of those girls who missed the FTs is very much aware of what was going on and the importance of making those shots. They have to live with what happened on the court. We only had to watch.

The good thing about the men's season ending early, some reality is going to be brought to this board for the post season.

This was a pathetic loss by a team that simply does not have what it takes to pull out a win in the final minutes of a tight game. I direct everyone to Fishy's post on the men's board who layed out that total stupidty of this team tonight with the game on the line. The things they did, they ALL did as a team, to lose this game was amazing.

The team can learn from this loss. The question is will they? The answer lies in what the coaching staff does this month. As for us fans, we can choose to be positive or negative about it, as we each see fit.

As for me

Good game, we can and will do better from here on.

Right. Mayebe they should all turn in their uniforms and give up their scholarships in shame. Geno should quit. Heck, we have no conference. Let's just fold up shop and stop embarrassing ourselves. What is the point of playing out the rest of the season because we are so disgraceful?

Do you know how many other programs would be thrilled to have only lost to the top two ranked team, and have 3 losses at the end of the regular season. The only thing disgraceful is the way some of us fans have the unrealistic expectation that a season can only be deemed successful if the team wins the conference championship, the BET and the NCAA and never loses a game.

That game wore me out...but I'm glad I found a thread that expresses my feelings about this team and this game...beau geste, ladies... I am so proud of you all, and I really think after this game we (you) are ready to bring the title back to UCONN...have a well-earned rest...I know I will...then onto the tourneys!

I have to give you credit for not, you know, completely overreacting to what I said.

Geno has 2 chances and a week or two to prove that (at least this year), he's a great coach.
I do hope he pulls some magic out of the fire, but I'm skeptical.

I have printed your post. Iwill take it to the smallest room in my house and re-read it there. When I finish reading, I will use it behind me.

So... you like fishys lame, sexist, post? and want to put these 20 year olds on a level with what? the

Unfortunatley your hatred & jealousy of the womens team is so misdirected, because (while we know football rules) they can help us get in a big conference. But, "pathetic?" ... they will still be a one seed and they will still graduate ... making us proud.

please explain how this game has anything to do with the conference mess.

I saw absolutely no quit on this team last night. From Kelly, to Heather, and including the coaches, each and every person gave 100% for 55 minutes of game time. These players are COLLEGE STUDENTS, and 3 of them are just out of high school. They played their butts off, but, unfortunately, came up a bit short. So they missed a few free throws. The last time I checked, there was nobody shooting at them; they weren't patrolling in enemy territory. Let's put it in perspective. It was a very entertaining basketball game, played by two great teams. Nothing more, nothing less...

Also consider the fact that during the 55 minutes they were keeping up with Notre Dame... but Notre Dame had that sixth player on their side... HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. (Bet you thought I was going to say the refs... maybe I should ;) but I won't.)

z look at the stats. There was nothing disgraceful about it. There was a lack of big game maturity for the freshmen at the line.

You may not like Proud, gib, but to say they didn't want the game is ridiculous. They may not have known how to win the game but there was no lack of heart or effort or the game would have been over much sooner. The bench learned last night what it is to be in the crucible. They didn't control themselves at the line and finish business but wasn't for lack of heart or desire to win the game to say so is just bloviating.

BTW it wasn't 90 feet from the basket it was at most 75'.
