Yep. Right there with the choke job of the mens team last week against Georgetown. Love these teams but what the heck is wrong with UConn the last two years. Too many games they should have won (Temple, NC State, USF in football) along with these games in hoops. Just can't afford this right now with conference mess.

please explain how this game has anything to do with the conference mess.

I saw absolutely no quit on this team last night. From Kelly, to Heather, and including the coaches, each and every person gave 100% for 55 minutes of game time. These players are COLLEGE STUDENTS, and 3 of them are just out of high school. They played their butts off, but, unfortunately, came up a bit short. So they missed a few free throws. The last time I checked, there was nobody shooting at them; they weren't patrolling in enemy territory. Let's put it in perspective. It was a very entertaining basketball game, played by two great teams. Nothing more, nothing less...

Also consider the fact that during the 55 minutes they were keeping up with Notre Dame... but Notre Dame had that sixth player on their side... HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. (Bet you thought I was going to say the refs... maybe I should ;) but I won't.)

That was a disgraceful performance in the last minute of regulation through the ots. Stop.
z look at the stats. There was nothing disgraceful about it. There was a lack of big game maturity for the freshmen at the line.

Proud? Proud?!!! Are you fn kidding me? Proud?! Moving screen 90 feet from the basket, poof our center fouls out. Is that something to be proud of? Up 6 with a minute to go in both first overtimes and they just give it away. Three straight misses on front ends of one and one. THEY DID NOT WANT TO WIN THIS GAME! Proud?
You may not like Proud, gib, but to say they didn't want the game is ridiculous. They may not have known how to win the game but there was no lack of heart or effort or the game would have been over much sooner. The bench learned last night what it is to be in the crucible. They didn't control themselves at the line and finish business but wasn't for lack of heart or desire to win the game to say so is just bloviating.

BTW it wasn't 90 feet from the basket it was at most 75'.

As for ND. I am glad we will not have to face them next year. Diggins running to the fans and giving high fives during the game was classless...

I would love to face them next year! Any opportunity to beat them is a good opportunity.

I hope we see them twice more this year. (Unless something truly shocking happens, we will see them in the BE final, and then we'll see about the FF if things play out as they should.) I just feel like, after losing to them so often, especially after last night's battle, any team worth their salt would relish the chance for a rematch, or multiple rematches.

I thought the team - with Dolson and Hartley on-the-bench - put in a worthy performance. I like our chaces in the BET and the Final four.

PS: "They wanted it more" is the most idiotic cliche in sports.

I am bummed that UConn lost.
I am mad that UConn lost.
I am frustrated that UConn lost.
I am sick to my stomach with how UConn lost.
And I am proud of this team.
Very proud.

Thank you for summing it up so well. My feelings, too!

Bruinbball - I think what makes me feel the worst is that Kelly may have given her heart, soul and every fiber of her being this season and may not get another championship. I would love for her to go out on top so much. We may see players with better stats, but we will rarely, if ever, see someone as dedicated and relentless as she is....an awesome player, and an even better team mate and person.
