I am a coward

I have watched every conference game live because I had no way to record the overwhelming majority of them and could never figure out how to do stuff (mainly ff and rewind) watching replays on the Fox Sports App.
For OOC games I will usually watch home games live and record the road games. I too try to avoid seeing the scores until the game is in the 4th quarter or over.
For the Dance, I watch the first 3 rounds live and usually record the remaining rounds.
If UConn lost any games I recorded, I will most likely delete the game and read the Postgame thread. This season I recorded the USC XL Center home game but did watch the recording.
When we win, I will watch the recorded game asap.
I did peak at this year's game at SoCar and it happened to be halftime. Yay. Once the game was over, I read the Postgame thread before watching my recording.
Now my reasoning for recording the games is because for the past few seasons I have been using a Continuous Glucose Monitor and have noticed that my Glucose levels skyrocketed while watching the games live. It takes a couple of hours to manage my Glucose levels after I stop watching. So....
I will record the Final Four game tomorrow and watch the replay either after the game is over or Saturday morning.

I am not going to watch tomorrow's game live.

There, I've said it.

I'm recording it. It is just too stressful to watch it live so I will wait until the morning to find out. I've done that before with high-stakes games and let me say it is a pleasure to watch an important game knowing that we're going to win. I did that with the South Carolina game and when I went to the Boneyard the next morning, the first words I read were "Well, I didn't see that coming!" I loved watching my replay. Besides, you can fast-forward through the commercials. And if we lose? I have no desire to watch our girls sobbing on the bench.

Anybody else do this?
You’re not a coward. Over the last 25 years there are many losses I wished I hadn’t seen, but the joy I get from watching them play and play well far exceeds the disappointment when they don’t play well. I have to watch live.

You’re not alone my friend. The last game that started at 9:00 I couldn’t fall asleep until 12:30 and they won. Ugh!

Well, the game is at 4am my time, so like many other games, I'm just going to sleep through it and wake up to see the end. Or I might wake up early (ie - my body will wake up) and then I'll watch the 4th quarter live. I hope to sleep through it too - I agree, it's just stressful (and I'm shocked that considering everything I've gone through the last year and a half, this is something I consider as remotely stressful, yet, here we are).

When I was the Head Wrestling Coach at East Lyme HS I had many mothers of my wrestlers go out into the hall when their sons were on the mat!
Occasionally I had a mother who would go berserk standing & yelling during their sons match! But these ladies were the quietest people away from the matches and wouldn't say "BOO" usually but the matches made them do a Jekyll & Hyde!

When climbing mountains, or continuing through the brackets, keep encouraging:
"I hope my strength holds out!"
"I hope your tail holds out!"

No way. I am currently walking the Appalachian Trail and I’m taking unusual steps in order to watch the game live. Once the game is over and you know the score it loses almost 100% of the tension and enjoyment for me. There have been times where I recorded the game in order to watch it later and if I unintentionally hear the score ahead of time, I never even end up watching the game, particularly if it’s a loss. The difference is the game either being a news blurb or an exciting mystery. Give me nail biting tension every time.

My mom had a hard time watching my older brother wrestle because he would get behind in the score early (of the top ten in the State of Iowa at 185, #1, 2, 4, 5, & 7 were in NE Iowa where we lived - he was #4), but he would pin his opponent late in the 3rd period, six matches were 5:57, 5:58, 5:59 in six minute matches.

I vowed to make it easier on her, and did fairly well in being up 7+ points going into the second period in most matches my senior year, and pinning my opponents in the second period or early in the third period. Too bad we did not have tech falls back in the day.

Since starting my workup for heart surgery to solve my atrial fib issues, I usually DVR the games if I can get them and start watching one hour after scheduled start time - just in case it may go OT; or watch the highlights on YouTube (when the game was not available) after seeing the box score when I hear/see the final score. If I have the box score, I tend to fast forward through quarters where the opponents are catching up, e.g. the 3rd quarter against U$C in the Elite Eight, and then rewind on great plays in the 4th quarter like Aubrey in the 4th quarter, as we did not see much of her in the tourney, and got to see all of Azzi's makes...

I like the UConn women vs. UCLA whether they cover the projected winning margin or not, as I do not have money on the game. They play team basketball in every sense.

Go Huskies!!!

So where are you right now? Starting down south of course, the northern states' mountains are still in the snow.

Cool! Where are you now and when did you start?

Of course I have to record the Bird and Taurasi show which runs concurrently with the live basketball game. Too annoying to watch it live with their commentary but hilarious to watch it later.

Will you peek at the result of the game prior to watching it?

If you peek, is there really a need to watch the game on Saturday?

If peek at the result, does the monitor jump just at the peek, or do you actually have to watch the game?

If you watch the replay...after you peek...will you still skyrocket?

If you don't peek & watch the replay, won't the same skyrocketing happen on the monitor?

LOTS TO THINK ABOUT, GUY.

Why don't you just watch it live, take in the aura and excitement of the final four game and watch them win.

Everyone has their own routine, there’s no feeling to describe watching a UConn game in March, a lot of excitement and nerves. I don’t blame you for not watching a game live especially a 930 start.

I wouldn’t have it in me to DVR the game I am a night owl as it is, I would have far too much anxiety to go to sleep not knowing the game result. I can’t eat during a game in March, men or women. I will crack open Miller Lites though, I’m constantly pacing back and forth. I have controlled myself as best as I can by slapping my thigh when I get mad lol.

I watch every game live. My wife watches games live when the team plays well and there is no doubt UConn will win.

If there is a tense game which we win then I’m obligated to rewatch the game with her immediately after it ends. These late playoff game victories are “killing” me. But I’m happy to do it for the mojo.

I made plans awhile ago to attend a play & go to dinner on Sunday
My ride comes at 1;30, play is at 2:30, then have dinner reservation at 5:00pm
All times Central
Backing out would result in serious repercussions
( YOU’RE CHOKING JUST TO WATCH A BASKETBALL GAME?!)
If,as I hope , the Huskies are playing for a NC, I will have to be incommunicado until I can catch a replay.
I don’t have DVR
Talk about dying of suspense!!
