Today is our official launch day! We've already partnered with a great group of organizations who have signed on to attend games this year. We are trying to raise $4000 for season 1 which will pay for 40+ tickets to each game and parking passes. Anything over our goal and we will continue this push into basketball/hockey season.

We are also working closely with the AD and compliance office to make sure things run smoothly.

Any amount of support helps and is much appreciated. Let's help fill the Rent and help the community at the same time.

Thanks to everyone who donated yesterday, we were able to meet 50% of our goal in 1 day. Let's keep the momentum going. For those of you that have donated, we thank you! For those that haven't, please consider donating or sharing our vision on Twitter with Husky Ticket Project (@Stubs4Pups).

The Yard is great for two things: Killing time at work and helping with these types of initiatives. Let's get as many youngin's into the Rent as possible!

Just wanted to provide a quick update that we are very proud of and feel that it is important to share to express our vision for this project.

As I am sure many of you are aware, last week the University announced a scholarship in the memory of Alex Schachter, the 14-year-old boy who was killed in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in February. He was a lifelong UConn fan and was hoping to attend post graduation as a member of the marching band.

We were able to reach out to his family that lives in Connecticut to offer them tickets to as many games as they requested for this upcoming season. Throughout the season, the UConn Marching band will be honoring Alex with the playing of his favorite song from Chicago 25-6-to-4. It is our honor to send them to games to be able to see this.

The fact that the marching band has been able to rally around Alex and push forward his spirit is exactly what makes us proud to be a part of UConn Nation. These are the types of experiences that happen across Universities all over this country, and we are trying to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to see them. Sports can often be more than just a game, and these are the examples that show how special they can be.

Its going very well. We've been able to raise close to $3,000 on our initial push for donations, so we are on track to hit our $4000 goal. We have organizations signed on for almost every game, including Susie Foundation, Big Brother Big Sister, Hartford Boys and Girls Club, and we are also sending the family/friends of the Parkland Country Shooting victim (CT residents) to a number of games.

We are also having ongoing conversations with the ticket office to develop a package of tickets/parking passes/food vouchers with our pool of funds.

If you know of anyone that would also be interested in going, or if you'd like to continue to spread the word, all help is much appreciated. Please share the link with anyone you know!

Happy to announce that we are sending the family of the Parkland County Shooting victim to each home game this season with 10 tickets for them to bring other family and friends. His father and brother will also be coming up from Florida for at least one game this season.

I provide this update to the Yard because a lot of you are a huge reason why we are finding success with this project. Whether its partnerships with youth organizations or instances like this, we are making a small difference with a team and University we are so passionate about. So, thank you!

If anyone else is interested in donating, we are still about $1000 away from our goal. Any support is much appreciated. Again, thank you.

“A lot of people on the Boneyard have been complaining about how the attendance is down... Instead of watching these trolls make excuses on the site, we were wondering what we could do to improve the situation and not just complain about it."
Ouch! Is that what you think of the Boneyard, whiny trolls.

Great news. We were able to purchase 60 season tickets and 6 parking passes for each game. The ticket office came back with a sizable discount for our group order to accomodate. For those interested, here are the organizations that we partnered with:

Hartford Catholic Worker
Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters
The Susie Foundation
Hartford Youth Scholars
Klingberg Family Centers
Governor's Prevention Partnership
RiseUp
Middletown Youth Bureau
Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern CT
ConnectiKids

Thank you to everyone who donated. Please be on the lookout for updates throughout the season with photos.

Thank you so much for the donation. And that's exactly our plan. After we get through this season, we have some money set aside to help fund that. A lot of paperwork and admin, but we feel it can really help moving forward.

Update time:

Tickets have been sent out to all of our organizations. We have Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and Klinberg Family Centers joining us for game 1. If you happen to pass section 132, be sure to say hello and introduce yourself. Without your support, these kids wouldn't be there.

Here's a tweet from one of our partners to show how excited they are about this:
