And #6 UConn has only 7 pts difference with #5 Louisville. And only 6 pts difference between #1 and #2.

Do either of those make Bridgeport more likely? Seems to me that one or the other should.
Not really, given that the AP doesn't factor into committe selection but, just for fun:

No. 1 SCar v No. 8 Iowa (Boston v. Clark)
No. 2 Stanford v. No. 7 Texas
No. 3 NC State v. No. 6 UConn in Bridgeport
No. 4 Baylor v. No 5 Louisville.

Does this throw away Charlie Crème’s latest bracket?
He has UConn in bracket with SC. Why do they want that matchup so bad in the Regional final.
I love UConn in the bracket with NC St. That would be a great regional final. See which team is the real deal this year

Great news. And while SC, Stanford, and NCST are the obvious 1, 2, 3, Baylor and Louisville are weaker 4 and 5. With a couple more weeks of being healthy, I think UConn could have been the 4.

What’s most interesting to me is Iowa at 8. Iowa and Clark are looking scary. I would not be surprised if they got to the Final Four.

Of course this is hypothetical, but I'd enjoy all of these matchups a lot.
I'm begging for a Stanford/Texas rematch; one of the best games I've watched all year. Clark vs. SC's perimeter defense would be a great watch as well.

Throw away this AND Creme's bracketology.

The COMMITTEE makes the decision

I would. I can’t see any B1G team in the final four, much less the elite 8, although it could depend on how badly the ncaa screws up the seedings after the top 4. I guess that’s why they play the games.

considering all the upsets, if UConn wins the Big East Tournament tonight and it is not placed in Bridgeport as the 5th or 6th team, it would be clear that the committee just decided that it would do what they can to avoid UConn in the Final 4 for the 13th time in a row.

Those all should be real exciting matches

I thought the goal of the committee was to have teams with male coaches play against each other so that they eliminate each other, thus preventing to many male coaches from advancing to the final 4.

Let's not forget that the quality of tonight's Villanova game will have a big effect on how the committee views the Bridgeport possibility. Clearly a loss would drop UConn to the 3-seed line and probably rule out Bridgeport. But even a close win in which UConn struggles would probably do the same. UConn can't really be the 6th best team in the country if it can only beat Villanova by 5 to 10 points in a championship game with a full roster.

However, a 25-to-30-point UConn win, I should think, would be sufficient to place UConn in Bridgeport as the overall #6 team.

So I guess I'm saying that any UConn MOV between 10 and 25 points would leave the Committee with a lot of discretion, and I wouldn't want to predict how they resolve it.

As I noted in another thread, Villanova absolutely needs a good showing in this game even to get into the tournament, so they will be in no mood to cooperate with the Boneyard's agenda. Which is as it should be.

The thing I like about this poll is that both LSU & Iowa St dropped multiple spots based on bad losses in the past week, which is exactly what should be reflected by the committee next Sunday.

Don’t know that the MOV is that important, but clearly UConn must win tonight.

So it's OK for South Carolina to lose to Missouri and have a meltdown against Kentucky, or that Louisville to have a meltdown against Miami and not score the last 5:54 minutes in the 4th. But if UConn can only beat Villanova 5 - 10 points it's bad, even though Paige and Liv aren't 100% yet, at tournament time a win is a win, they all count.

I've heard people say this before but it makes little sense to me. The BCS wants Alabama, Georgia and OSU to be in as many playoff games as possible because of the size of that fan base. Way better tv numbers and more money. I can't quantify it but I'd bet anything that Uconn has the largest most dedicated fan base across the country. The Uconn women have basically created WCBB. And made the ncaa a bunch of money. How would they benefit if uconn was not in final 4?

I agree. This isn't the BCS, it's the NCAA Women's Tournament. Point spread means nothing unless you're gambling. The only people "Statement" wins mean anything to in this sport are talking heads like Antonelli.

LSU didn’t drop far enough, they are number 18 in Massey, and shouldn’t get a hosting seed. Nice to see Carla’s Princeton in the top 25
