Would be a game changer if we can get 1 season next year (more or less) from Diarra.

If you're talking about the picture on the UConn men's instagram page that would be pretty horrendous and unsustainable form for a front squat, the plates are 15 kgs each, and the bar is not weightless.

No. Even playing pick up wouldn't mean much. I'm sure he is. The demands of the season are high on the body.

Would be great to see him back, just to see a kid do what he loves. But I'm not sure it will happen after 2 years.

Being old and decrepit I see something in these photos ('cause I can't do it) that maybe you younger guys don't notice - very good flexibility. It is hard to do a front squat (more on quads than back squats) and one of the hardest things to do is have enough flexibility in shoulders and wrists to get bar on shoulders while keeping elbows up (triceps parallel to ground) and hands on bar.
All these kids look like very good flexibility.
Key to strength - "get under the bar", good to see they are doing it. 1st come strength, then comes explosiveness.
