Olt is there now (hoping he gets the opening day start today). Springer will be up in May/June. But the earliest Barnes will see the majors is expanded rosters in September (especially given his injury issues right now). But I don't think there is any way Ahmed sees the majors this year. Between Ahmed's performance lately and the fact that the DBacks have 2 young SS already not getting enough reps...Ahmeds MLB chances are slim in '14.

ha oops. You're right. I thought he wasn't sent back down. I was looking at his game log and thought I saw July 27th when it was really JUNE 27th. my bad. he actually started today for the Dbacks and is 1-3 so far
 
through 9 games at AAA, a mike Olt is batting .344!!! keep it up mike!

lot now batting .351 with a homer run. hit his fest HR in AAA this year (12 or 13 in MLB this year)
 
With the log jam of young talented players the Cubs have in their minor league system hopefully Mike does not get forgotten. Thought maybe they might try to trade him at deadline. Maybe they couldn't and that would not be a good thing. Hopefully he keeps up the good work and gets a shot again real soon.

Ya Matt Barnes threw a no hitter through 7 innings at AAA Saturady for Pawtucket
 
Mike Olt now has a 10 game hitting streak by hitting a grand slam to left today!
 
so through 23 games at AAA, Mike Olt is batting .333 with 7 HR and a .375 OBP. This kid can hit in the minors, thats for sure. His total HR for 2014 are 19 (12 with cubs) and playing on a limited basis
