Mid-West Independent League;

According to the Instagram link, Aaron Hill has a .412 on base percentage in the Frontier League. I always had a soft spot in my heart for Aaron Hill when he was with UConn baseball.

Per the NY Penn League's transactions page, Zac Susi has been assigned to the West Virginia Black Bears (based in Granville, near Morgantown). They do not play the Connecticut Tigers at all this season, but will be in Staten Island from July 14-16 in case anyone wants to make the trip down and see him.

Disappointing the Connecticut Tigers are not playing West Virginia and Zac Susi at all this season. The New York Penn League adopted a really off the wall unbalanced schedule this season. There are three other teams in Connecticut's division, where they play 15 games against Lowell, 12 games against Vermont, and 5(?) against Tri Cities. It is just as unbalanced outside there division, where they play some teams as many as 9 games, and others (such as West Virginia) none. In previous seasons they would play at least 1 series against teams not in their own division. This schedule seems designed to save on travel expenses.

The West Virginia Black Bears play in the same ballpark as the West Virginia University baseball team.
