So what kind of pad did you get for your mouse? A 2-bedroom condo, studio apartment, ranch house?O/T: Please excuse me. I had to share this. Not trying to hi-jack the thread. I had to put this somewhere. This was the funniest and most ridiculous thing I've heard this year. I went to my local Office Max today to buy a MOUSE PAD.
As the cashier begins to ring me up, she asks me "Did you want to get the warranty on that?"
A warranty on a $11 mouse pad? Are you serious? Really? The pad that this new pad replaced lasted for over 10 years. I got my money's worth from it. In 10 years, when this one wears out, I'll buy a new one. No warranty covers natural wear and tear. Another way to try and get more money out of the consumer.
Definite outlier.
It's the same old story. She looked great against lots of other teams in her first 3 seasons at SC. But against UConn she looked mediocre. That makes her a damn good player, who looks fallible against the highest level of competition. Lots of damn good players have looked ordinary against UConn D.
1st meeting in November she balled as well, and yes usually players from freshman to sr year get better as player. Thank you for breaking news.
That is for certain. And if "they" were all perfectly healthy we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.
So this team is gonna be better without Bueckers?
Hmmmm? Possibly with the new additions and everyone healthy. They’d be a juggernaut with a healthy (110%) Bueckers.
She will be great, BUT she won't be starting on day one (or absent injuries) any other day this year. She isn't a #5 but if she was, Dorka and maybe even Ice would be ahead of her at that spot. She is a #3 or #4 , but she won't be ahead of AE at the #4 or Caroline at the #3.
I’d be shocked if she starts the first game or for that matter, any game this season! (barring injuries, of course) I do believe she will be a star for us though.
Agree. Here’s the thing though, this is probably the least fit we will ever see her. I am looking forward to seeing her play.
That frustration of the opposition guards and perimeter players does not come about accidentally or by hoping those opposition player have an off day. It is the result of having a player on the roster that is capable of delivering the frustration when most needed in heavy doses if necessary. Most needed may not be in a conference game against a Parker Lane because chances are UCONN is going to win those games by 20 anyway. Most needed in some of the UCONN WBB recent tournament games.
Can't disagree. I will merely observe that against some (not all) of these opponents, great foot speed was necessary. MoJeff engineered some of the best performances in red. Bria, Kia and Gabby had a hand in one or two as well. Crystal had some good foot speed, too, but she was not the defender MoJeff was. And since they left, we have not had any guards with that kind of speed. Aubrey, who is really quick as a 3/4 was the fastest player on the team, and Paige was sometimes second. But neither of them approached MoJeff.
Re-read the post in which you will find the the words “when most needed”. Of course UCONN guards have held some guards below their averages since 2017. I gave you an example Park Lane after her first game against UCONN and another example is Caitlin Clark against Iowa. UCONN won the Iowa game by 20 and routinely beats Seton Hall by 20. That is not when the perimeter defense is “most” needed.
