ULM-Florida State moved up to Noon ET due to Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma, a category 5 storm that will hit Florida this weekend, has forced another change to a college football game.

The Florida State Seminoles and ULM Warhawks, previously scheduled to play at 7:00pm ET on Saturday, will now play at Noon ET on the ACC Network. The game remains at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.

I can't believe the NCAA is allowing USF to fly toward this thing on Saturday after the UCONN game.

STORRS, Conn.—The football game between UConn and USF on Saturday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field has been moved to a 10:30 a.m. kick-off, pending any other significant weather changes that impact travel plans for USF.

The game will be televised live on ESPNews. Tailgate lots will open for season ticket holders at 6:00 a.m. and to general ticket holders at 6:30 a.m. Fans are invited to join the team for Husky Walk at 8:00 a.m.

Stay tuned...

NCAA has nothing to do with it. It's between the schools and the conference.

Plus, the conference's role is only about the game. It's totally USF's decision to fly everyone home after the game so that they can be in a hurricane zone.

What are the chances this thing or Jose affect our game at UVA?

Potentially foolish and ideally not so much, but USF's decision may have been influenced to some degree by its' AD yet ultimately sits squarely on USF President Judy Genshaft's shoulders. NCAA or even AAC, nyet!

Who knows what trajectory Jose may actually follow other than the current forecast to go out to sea over the Atlantic, but you're asking about a UConn game to be played roughly 150 miles inland a whole 9 days from today ...

Arkansas State must be pist.

So it would seem, at least on their message board. Instead of just rolling with it and having some idea of what a storm like this could mean to South Florida, the message board warriors have chosen to run with the "Miami is scared to come here" line. Fortunately message board warriors aren't representative of a real life, rational population.

... and scUM will likely either pay off Arkansas State for the cancelled second game of their home-and-home series or re-schedule a game sometime down the road.

And either solution would be fair. Just the fact that Miami has given teams like App State, Ark State and Toledo home and homes is amazing to me.

I heard usf could not get a charter arranged for a Friday game
Could be, and perhaps USF charter airline had zero interest in flying back into a Texas-sized hurricane some forecast models suggest may hit Tampa harder than forecasted a few hours ago.

It was reported yesterday that Thursday travel was not a feasible option for USF.
