Even if he won at asu there is no way unc is hiring a dook legend!!
You got that right!

From what I know about Stevens, and I know people who know him very well, I doubt it. He likes his lifestyle now and he's very well paid. But who knows, maybe he has the itch to coach again. But the college game he left is not the same as today's college game. I'll be curious if UNC at least makes a phone call to see what he says.
Great point. It’s tough with the way sports are now, leaving a good SEC program to go to a storied ACC program isn’t the no brainer it used to be.
Oats and Golden being good examples: is it better at UNC or Alabama? He’s been in the sweet 16 every year and has overflowing resources.
Ollie to UNC. Book it.Hoiberg to KU
Oats to UK
Hurley to UNC

In retrospect, all the No's handed to KY seem reasonable, but at the time it was a shock. That plus their underwhelming seasons has taken the shine off of them for the moment but to me it's still KY and Duke. I still may put KY on top of Duke because it's not even a choice you make if youre from KY. You dont follow KY basktball-It's on your birth certificate.I'd probably put it 4th behind Duke, Kansas, and UK. Duke has the USA basketball, Nike, and ESPN machines. UK has the most money, which is pretty important in the NIL era. Kansas and UNC similar level.
What is this deity you're talking about, and how does that reflect in the blueblood mythos? In retrospect, all the NO's handed to KY seem reasonable, but at the time it was a shock. I don't mind Goodman. He can be a troll and say dumb stuff to get reactions. And he asks dumb questions during interviews-he is not good at those at all. However, when it comes to obtaining information from his sources who are close to the players and coaches and then he says he verified the veracity of certain stories, you can take that to the bank-he is very reliable in that regard.Ask Goodman how that early tournament exit for UConn went lol
I was at 153 out of 26 million women brackets heading into recent Monday but Iowa and OSU flopped. Am now at 3K.Last year I was one of the top 1700 out of something like 25 million brackets. This was at the start of the elite 8.
And then it all went to crap
I think Duke is clearly the top job between the pedestal they get placed on by ESPN where they're treated like the Cowboys/Lakers/LeBron of the sport. Also the USA basketball connections. Just look at how quickly Duke wrestled away the premier 1 and done pipeline designation away from Kentucky when they decided to. I think UNC/UK are close for that #2 job, UNC with the Jordan Brand and the reports I've seen that they (somehow) spent $15m on their team this year, plus all the money they ponied up for BelichickIn retrospect, all the No's handed to KY seem reasonable, but at the time it was a shock. Rupp is a deity.
Definitely not. He's a great coach and would be a home run hire but Carolina is a wine & cheese crowd that wouldn't go for his fiery sideline behavior.
Why isn’t jay wright in this list ? Figure he’d get a ring as well. And according to the Athletic, Golden and Oats aren’t interested.
After that though, their list of five is similar:
Byington
Donovan
May (agreed, lol)
Otzelberger
and Tommy Lloyd (also lol)
Byington or Oztelberger, if they could pry him from Ames, both seem like good hires. With Kansas also possibly opening up, it could be a wild carousel.
In terms of job right now, you are right. And I know that this is the topic of the thread so that makes even more sense.I think Duke is clearly the top job between the pedestal they get placed on by ESPN where they're treated like the Cowboys/Lakers/LeBron of the sport. He's headed to LSU....Will Wade.
If the donors are sufficiently desperate…..
Seth Davis and Andy Katz are morons. His picks for the Final Four: All 1 seeds. With Arizona over Florida in the final. Not exactly going out on a limb.
By the way, Seth Davis and Andy Katz picked UCLA over UConn. So the so called experts aren't any better at picks than the average college basketball fan.
They are, but I have no issue with them picking UCLA over us. We've been struggling and Mick Cronin knows defense. They probably figured they'd give us SJU type problems. It was as good a guess as any. Hopefully, the midrange game is the proverbial "Rabbit out of a Hat" for us this tournament and we've solved our problems with it.Seth Davis and Andy Katz are morons.
I’d assume we’re a little too clogged in the backcourt for Mingo huh
Ummm...Rumor has it that Bill Self is retiring. News could come out today. Kansas and Carolina jobs both open at the same time would be wild.
I think there's a reasonable chance that Jacque Vaughn gets the job. He'll certainly be a candidate. Ironically, it's Kansas players who have found success coaching at Carolina.
Less than 12 hours after news broke that North Carolina fired Hubert Davis on Tuesday night, an expected but notable bit of clarity to the university's coaching search has already been communicated: Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has removed his name from consideration for the Tar Heels job, sources told CBS Sports. My friends who are huge Carolina fans want Brad Stevens. Would he leave the Celtics for this?
It was comical that UNC fans believed he'd be interested.Less than 12 hours after news broke that North Carolina fired Hubert Davis on Tuesday night, an expected but notable bit of clarity to the university's coaching search has already been communicated: Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has removed his name from consideration for the Tar Heels job, sources told CBS Sports.

It's unclear whether Hall-of-Fame coach Bill Self will opt to retire in the coming days, but the 63-year-old publicly acknowledged the possibility on Sunday after his fourth-seeded KU team lost at the buzzer to No. 5 St. John's in the second round. Self has endured numerous heart problems in recent years, though he told CBS Sports earlier this month that he believed he'd continue coaching after this season.Rumor has it that Bill Self is retiring. Besides Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC...where would you put us?This makes me wonder where we see UConn sitting as a job unbiasedly, when considering history/fans/NIL/etc.
We are top 10 but I think we are closer to 10 then many of us would care to admit
We got our choice to coach last time it was open. Kentucky did not. UNC may not. That's the only metric that mattersThis makes me wonder where we see UConn sitting as a job unbiasedly, when considering history/fans/NIL/etc.

I think we are behind Indiana when considering fan support and resources and mixed in somewhere with Michigan/Zona/UCLA/Mich St. in whatever order you’d like. Edit to add Purdue as well. Would argue all those schools have more resources and half of them bigger fan basesBesides Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC...where would you put us?
