That jives with him being the product of DC area sports talk radio. I’m guessing if you turned on one of the local shows this week they’d be focused on what third string quarterback the Commanders should sign (Or re-sign? Who cares). They spend 95% on the Commanders, 4.9% on the Capitals, and everything else gets squeezed into the remaining 0.1% if/when they somehow get bored with the first two. Unlistenable.Did anyone see PTI on Monday? Tony seemed to have never seen Alex Karaban’s name before. The guy has won two titles! I know college basketball is a little more niche than the NFL or whatever, but you talk about sports for a living. This isn’t lacrosse
That’s because a Yankee hat is a “New York” hat. It’s bigger than the Yankees. This is a bit off topic. As far as branding is concerned, the Yankees in my observations are #1 by a large margin. Living in Mexico i see people with yankee hats frequently. Being worn by people who know nothing about US baseball. Their merchandise permiates the most obscure places in the world.
EVERY fan base thinks the officials were against them when they lose. Some even when they win.I saw Duke fans complaining about the officiating. Talk about a fan base they has no self awareness. Cam Boozer literally elbowed and ran over Mullins, with no call, and they got 2 points out of it. If not for the miracle play at the end, that could have been the difference in the game. And you want to complain about the officiating?
I've seen Mets hats less frequently used that way as well, and also Dodgers hats for Los Angeles. That’s because a Yankee hat is a “New York” hat. It’s bigger than the Yankees.
Danny is one of those guys that if he's your coach, you love him and if he's anyone else's, you hate them. Cam is the same as a player.
It is interesting. Duke message boards complaining about refs and playing 8 on 5, Cuse boards rooting for Duke over UConn strictly based on hatred levels, dogs and cats living together!
The guys on Barstool Sports are talking about how unfathomable UConn's championship karma has been, with one guy bringing up how we were 9 1/2-point underdogs against Duke in 1999 when the run started
The front line of Voskuhl and Freeman with Souley and Edmund Saunders off the bench would absolutely eliminate Boozer.I legit think he 99 team would win like 7/10 from that Duke team. I believe we had best player on the court in Rip, the best defender in Ricky, and the guy with biggest testiculos in KEA. Thats a solid blueprint for winning most games.

Posted shortly after the game endedI haven't seen any of that on the Duke basketball report. That's a very well run site. You know where you see people whining about refs? The Boneyard. It's embarrassing.
Only because it is.UConn fans need to accept its us against the world at this point.
I was on record, I knew Purdue wouldn't get it done. Not walking the walk is what Purdue does. But no one is better at acting like you've been there before than Purdue Fan. Even though they've never been there before.I’m biased obviously but the Hurley hate has gotten so ridiculous over the past few years. I find its always butt hurt Purdue fans leading the charge too LOL
That would be me. 🤩EVERY fan base thinks the officials were against them when they lose. Some even when they win.
I've been saying this from the day before that championship game. They got a ton of hype because they ran through the ACC (which was not as good as prior seasons) that year.I legit think he 99 team would win like 7/10 from that Duke team. I believe we had best player on the court in Rip, the best defender in Ricky, and the guy with biggest testiculos in KEA. Thats a solid blueprint for winning most games.
Yep, our fans knew we had more than a chance. I remember walking out of MSG after the BET championship and fans were yelling "We Want Duke!" .I've been saying this from the day before that championship game. They got a ton of hype because they ran through the ACC (which was not as good as prior seasons) that year.
We were more talented, faster and deeper. Our biggest advantage was that they never would have considered any of the three a possibility prior too seeing it in the game, which would have been too late for them.
We defended them better than they thought anyone could and when we needed a score we had the two best options on the floor (Rip, KEA). That game was in no way, shape or form an upset.
We're a couple wins shy of being bad for the sport. And the UConn fandom will reach entirely new levels of arrogant and spoiled.
Heck, this men's team wins, we are going to move to insufferable and spoiled.
The front line of Voskuhl and Freeman with Souley and Edmund Saunders off the bench would absolutely eliminate Boozer.
At their peak who was more hated? Jim or Danny? Gotta be Danny. Curious what others thinkWhy do you care what other teams fans or sports talk shows think? You’ll never get that time back.
Let the results be your microphone. Hurley is despised by many…who cares. Have we forgotten the hate of JC?
I think it's been memory holed, but the vitriol toward our program from like 2006 to the end of Calhoun's tenure and beyond was intense. Some of it self-inflicted, some not -- laptops, Nate Miles, the APR mess -- but it was no joke.At their peak who was more hated? Jim or Danny? Gotta be Danny. Curious what others think
