Buddy of mine got two free tix to the Brewfest at Mohegan Sun so I'll be there. Wife finally caved and agreed to free me from watching the two kids. Great to way to forget about the first 5 games....

Teach Sat afternoon, take a peak at whatever games are on Sat night. Sunday prep for new teaching job that starts Monday (maybe a little brush cutting).

Ok I'll be the one watching a great slate of games.

Pay bills? That's a thing in 2014?

And shame on you UCFBfan for using a pass from the kids on the casino instead of a game.

What day is Rick Derringer at the Berlin Fair? Does he just play Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo 15 times?

The only good thing about the Apple Harvest Festival is the bed race. Apple Fritters are more overrated than the 1991 Cleveland Indians.

I'll throw in an emoticon so it's clear I'm joking.

Substitute seltzer water for the tonic and you won't have to ride 1,000 miles in a season. ;)
Polar Diet Lime Tonic is the tonic of choice and adds to the taste. Almost 68 and getting in shape for the rest of my life.

Casual dinner with my family tonight. MINI Cooper rally in Rhode Island tomorrow.

After the Temple game, I am really going to enjoy this break.

Rather light myself on fire. Especially if those undeserving stains from Rutgers pull out a W and reinforce their "we're the greatest without ever actually winning anything" attitude.

Watch two 9 year olds baseball games, split wood, watch a ton of college football on Saturday afternoon and a grueling 18 hole golf match with TheJerk and two other pals.

Pendulums swing. Right now it doesn't suck to be an RU football fan. That wasn't true for many, many years.

I will spend my weekend on the Non key tweet thread hitting F5 waiting for a welcoming tweet from Delany.

So, no rooting for us this weekend... What's the thing you most need to catch up on?

I have a yard that has been suffering.. And a Harley that needs to run!
Catch up on the CT high school football scene, and maybe watch Wisconsin/Northwestern today, should be a good one. Checked out the NH Reg State Poll, is Southington really that good? Would love to see them play New Canaan or Darien. The FCIAC seems really stacked this year top to bottom, only perennial power not having a great year is Staples. The bottom and mid level teams seem better than in past years. The downside about having a stacked conference is the teams beat up on each other during the season and they're then penalized in the state polls and CIAC playoffs. Kudo's to the Brookfield Bobcats, no state poll yet but they are getting some votes, hope Coach Diaco and his staff give Brookfields star junior running back, Bob Drysdale, a look.

On the couch / bed with my leg elevated, on painkillers recovering from Achilles repair surgery. Maybe if I watch Rutgers it will distract me from the pain?

Sorry to hear it. I had Achilles repair surgery a year ago Sept 5th on my right foot, just running again now pain free. Had the same thing done on my left 10 years ago, and my left is now my bionic foot after a year of recovery. Now seeing the light with my right foot. Heal spurs on the Achilles and Achilles calcification from years and years of running is a long process to come back from. Was your Achilles totally detached during the surgery or only partial? My left one done 10 years ago was a full detachment, my right done last year was a partial.

Southington is that good, went to the simsbury southington game last week (simsbury was 2-0 both were blow out wins 46-7 type) and southington blew their doors off. 46-0 at the half. Amazing the disparity in one conference.

Left Achilles, completely ruptured. I was playing intramural volleyball with grad students, went from a standstill to jumping forward when I heard it pop and thought someone had belted a basketball into my ankle! Doc said I'd be able to start biking maybe in 6 months, which is my main form of exercise.

One of my colleagues transitioned into a career in a new-ish field of playing therapy, that basically re-trains your motor nerve circuits to relax. According to practitioners in this field, a lot of chronic pain in joints or even hip or back pain comes from the neurons over-firing, putting chronic stress on muscles and tendons. So I may be supporting his business soon... I noticed my insurance does not cover biofeedback though.

Is Southington LL or L? I can't remember. They have had some great teams over the years as I recall. Brookfield was up 28-0 on Masuk, not at the half, at the end of the 1st quarter. Their upcoming game with Newtown should be a good one.

With all of the great games on today people are going to watch Rutgers/Michigan?

Noon - TAMU @ Miss St.

3:30 - Bama @ Ole Miss

8 - Nebraska @ MSU

Anything else is unacceptable.

Biking in 6 months, running in maybe 9 months to a year. Try the step mill at any gym when you're ready, not the stair master, the step mill. The one that actually forms stairs like an escalator. Helped me a lot. Good luck!!!
