I thought she was a freshman? Do freshman get into law school?
She is still just 19-yrs old, has completed only 4 semesters at UConn; recall she had all of last year where she red-shirted + one semester from the previous spring. Technically, she is entering into what would be her junior year as classes start back up again.

I had the exact same question though. Does not seem as if she would be far enough along into her bachelor's degree to be applying for Law School here stateside. Is it perhaps a law school in a foreign country, like maybe back home in Eqypt?

Does this mean that she can't play a full 4 years? If she goes to law school, she won't be around to play unless she goes to UConn law school. Actually, my son applied to law school but wanted a higher rated school, so he got his Masters degree first to enhance his resume. He ended up going to Syracuse Law School, and now he is a big shot attorney working for the state of New York. So, she can get her Masters at UConn before moving on to law school.

Maybe it’s an accelerated or combined bachelor/law school program. Does UConn offer that? If not…yikes…

They’re all excited about something. Could it be clickbait? Maybe. But Jana has now been at UConn for 3 full semesters plus 2 summer tems. Could she have gotten enough credits to graduate before next fall? Maybe. Some kids are driven about this stuff.

The better high schools in Europe and Middle East offer the IB program, International Bacalaureate, which translates to a ton of college credit similar to the AP credit program.

Idea of IB is to have a difficult college prep program for the US that is similar around the world for kids, whose parents move around thru many international postings.

She may well be done with BA by next fall.

This is a social media trend and the ladies are re-enacting a series of very popular videos of students reacting to their acceptance letters from prestigious universities. They are trolling, a pre-req to getting into any law school is a Bachelors and Jana doesn't even have her Associate's yet.

I agree they like each other and it's a cute video, but Jana's major is (hopefully) WNBA with a minor in overseas play.

Impressive! How will she find time to practice once she is in law school?
Use Paige's technique: "Priorities and Time Management". But
this does sound problematic.... DEFERRED ADMISSION? Some
kind of Part Time school work while maintaining scholarship status?
Using the summer program to lighten the load? I really don't
know. CONGRATS to the BIG GIRL!!

I may be an out of date boomer, but I really don't see who you'd be trolling with a video like this... Jana's parents maybe. Why would this be a "thing"?

Makes more sense than dumping a bucket of cold water on your head the way the kids were a few years ago (I know that was a stunt to raise funds for ALS research)

As a retired lawyer, i don’t see how a college soph could be admitted to a US law school. Maybe not here. Need all credits and law board scores that are ok for the school(s) you are applying to. One way or another. interesting young person.

Earlier in the thread I stated that this was the latest fad on social media. So, it's not real.

Are we sure that this is legit and not just click bait? That isn’t Paige’s Instagram, it’s a fan page. Wouldn’t something like this be from the official Husky page?
It seems like bait. No one is able to identify the law school. Even if it is UCONN. And the story is widespread with " no named school." None of it makes sense.

I guess it's a joke and I'm happy to be a victim.:p

Still by June '25 Jana will have completed 5 regular semesters and 2 summers. With either AP/IB credits, or a third summer in '25 she could in theory be done with her B.A.

If that was the case, she could be applying to grad school now to start Fall '25.

Well, I guess she could be accepted to a unaccredited law school. You can take the California bar without having a law degree. Therefore the status of a law school wouldn’t matter.

Sounds plenty questionable to me though

I agree. It was a delightful video ... I always enjoy the team "fun" video!

I haven't a clue whether this acceptance at law school is real or not....different takes on the board.
Does it seem reasonable for Horde members to ask Jana...or Geno...and hope they get a straight
answer?

Having said that...I love the video.

are we sure she had two summers here? Didn't she tear her Achilles in the FIBA Tournament in the summer of '23?
