I don't. The addition of RU did exactly what the Big 10 wanted. It gave them higher fees in the NYC DMA (which UConn would have done as well) plus they gave them higher fees in the rest of NJ as well. NJ's population is about 3 times Connecticut's population. RU brought a bigger bounce to B1G financials.I still think that the B1G whiffed when they added Rutgers instead of UConn...
AAU is an artificial construct...if Notre Dame was available, think that the B1G would say.."well, you aren't an AAU university. Go fish."?
Now there was a cost to decision. RU's athletic department has been a flaming outhouse since they joined and their (major) athletic teams have been absolutely miserable, but none of that effects Big 10 revenue.
