How much college basketball do you watch? (no poll)

All of UConn men’s, bits and pieces of St. John’s as our BE rival now. Will also tune into parts of top 10 games to gauge and compare to our team.
 
I watch almost all of the UConn games. I do miss a few each season, but I always follow along on my phone with the espn app and the game chat here.

I also watch a lot of Big East games. I'm particularly interested in games that involve the original members. DePaul, Butler and Marquette don't interest me as much. I did always like watching Creighton because they just ran a great program and had great coaching. Now that McDermott is gone, they will need to earn my viewership again. I really like watching PC, SHU and SJU games. They are always battles, even when they aren't very good. Nova would be of interest too, but they've been boring and not very good the last few years. That should change soon. Georgetown is something I watch more as a curiosity. Cooley is floundering.

Otherwise, I will watch a little bit of all the other major conferences but I can't say I sit through entire games. I almost never do that. I'm more likely to watch a random regional game that I trip across like UMass, BU, UVM, Bryant, Yale, CCSU, Hofstra, Fairfield, URI etc. Its more about my northeastern roots than quality of play. I really don't care about Baylor or Ohio St etc. It just doesn't matter to me at all. If we joined a P4 conference, my attitude would change real quick, but for now, no way.
 
I watch all of UConn's games and usually catch 1 or 2 games a week or flip back and forth between a few games some nights. We do plan around the UConn schedule.

The funny thing is during the Duke/UConn game this year, I watched all of the first half and then had to lay down because I was falling asleep (3rd day of pretty bad flu). I was in my room and would hear my dad yell, squeal or make some kind of noise. I would check the score on my phone and realized that the tv broadcast here where I live in Virginia was good 2 or 3 minutes behind the play-by-play on the phone. When AK hit the big 3 I got up. I was in the bathroom taking some more meds for the flu when I looked down and saw the update about Mullins shot and it took a moment to comprehend. I then shuffled out to the tv and my dad was like "We need a miracle." And I just said "One's coming. Just watch." It happened and he was jumping up and down (pretty spry for a man about to turn 82). It wasn't until the next day that he got what I said and asked how I knew... was it just faith in the team or did I know something. I told him about the phone and the time difference with the tv. He just laughed.
 
Obviously all UConn games.

Also watch top 20 games if any between Big East teams, some out of conference games vs Big East (if good), and non Big East top 20 showdowns when I'm available and interested.
 
I watch about 10-30 games a day pending on how many games are on each day- my favorite sport by far. I’ve seen just about every transfer multiple times- some a dozen or more. Some of the guys that only play 10-20 mins a game- I’ve seen them but obviously wasn’t focused on them.

A ton. I’ve quit on the NBA and NHL.

I will watch any college game that’s on, often bouncing around multiple games.

College basketball is the greatest.
 
Just UConn men and women, with the exception of an occasional NCAA tourney game that will render UConn's next opponent (Men only).
 
All UConn games (and if I'm out they're all DVR'd anyway), and probably 6 or 7 other games each week.
 
All UConn games. Other Big East games on FS1 if we aren’t on. All marquee matchups from the power conferences. Saturdays are all day for me. Smaller market games when they are occasionally broadcast. All of March madness. As much as I can possibly have time for.
 
Probably 15-20 non UConn games per week, more if we're including partial games I'm flipping through
 
I used to watch a lot more college hoops games.

I watch just about every UConn game and catch all or part of some of the games played by the top 25 type teams, especially when there's a big time match up between ranked teams.

Work, life and watching sports & TV balance is important. I can't imagine how anyone who has a significant other, kids, home and/or friends can watch many games without running the risk of neglecting and losing some of those things. I get into little trouble if I'm on the Boneyard too much and my wife likes sports and really supports my love for sports.

Oh, gotta go. Her she comes....Kidding! 🤣

All UConn men’s and women’s games. Any top ten games that are on. Probably watch about 5-6 D3 games live
 
Never miss a UConn game of course. Tend to at least keep an eye on any top 25 matchups if I’m not home to watch them.

Have a spreadsheet with cumulative metrics of the top 68 teams in the nation that I update almost daily, so I try to check in on as many of those games as is reasonable.

Start to finish, only UConn. But try to keep my finger on the pulse as much as I can.

If there's a Big East game on, I will prefer to see that - with some exceptions. I could not stand watching this year's variants of Georgetown and Seton Hall so I tended to skip their games in favor of something else, like test patterns.

After that, I watch mostly ACC games and then Big Ten if I like the matchup. Liked watching Michigan and Purdue this year. I like the Big 12, but not all of them. I don't care about mid-to-lower orbit of B12 teams, but I like watching Houston, Kansas, Iowa State, Arizona. Outside of Florida, the SEC bores the shit out of me, so that's the league of last resort for me.

I saw a ton of Boston College games this year because of a BC-grad friend who was not well and we passed some of his time game-watching. (Brutal team to watch.) I watched a lot of UMass and Pitt games because my nephews are students there and we texted during games.

And I have Marist season tickets so I watched a lot of MAAC just because I have this yearly pipe dream that the Red Foxes will win the league. (They never do.)

They'll never replace Alan Tomidy. I used to watch those games on some local Hudson Valley channel when I was a kid during the Dave Magarity era.

He had a nice little career in Italy and is a bank exec somewhere in NY these days.

I have had Marist season tickets essentially all my life - even during the Smits days. The games are a ton of fun and I enjoy them, but I don't live and die with Marist the way I do with UConn. But some people do....and that's where this portal stuff is really brutal.

Marist loses every single player of any ability every year now. They had a decent center who was a local kid - he had one decent game in January and I knew he was as good as gone right there. (Signed with Loyola Chicago.)

That kind of thing is killing the folks who live and die with these small schools. For the first time in years, the people around me are starting to change as if some are starting to drop their tickets or not going as often.

I watch all the UConn men’s games, and I’ll tune into some of the women’s games too depending on the matchup, like South Carolina, Notre Dame, etc. I’ll also flip around to other men’s games in different conferences and catch a half here and there just to see what kind of players are out there and how we compare to them.

I'm in the same boat. I do watch as much big east as I can. Usually 80% of the women and 100% of the men's games obviously.
I watch some MVC cuz im a grad student at Bradley and also some MAC cuz my nieces go to Miami. I Always watch the big ticket games. And Ill usually choose CBB over NFL games these days no matter who's playing.
 
Can't believe no one here is watching the American Conference.

(I cannot remember the last AAC game I watched. I bet it was the last one we played in...)
 
UConn, of course, and some Big East games, along with big time matchups in other conferences. Since I am moving, I will be going to some Murray St games this fall and maybe a UK game, as my Father and mother-in-law are big UK fans but they always now like UConn and root for them

He does….every few years. And he’s not grey.

But he is still really freaking tall.

He’s like one of three people I’ve met who are so tall that your brain struggles to process it. (Hasheem was another. Gheorghe Muresan was just beyond beyond beyond.)

Keep an eye on Roman Domon for Murray St. That Frenchman can play.
 
Other than UConn? not much. I prefer NBA, other than UConn. For sports it's mostly football, some NBA. If baseball comes on the channel changes. Not sure I could even name a current baseball player. They have no stars.

This is the saddest part of this business. I was upset when Stewie left but he'll be fine. It doesnt hold a candle to what die hard fans of these other schools have to deal with. My brothers family are big Miami-Ohio and OhioU fans, who have had recent big successes , and even they chase dissapointment after dissapointment. And that is the MAC, which may be the most high profile mid. Just getting absolutely pillaged

Were Marist and Hartford in the same conference in the 80’s? I used to see a lot of Marist games when I was a kid but I’m not sure why. I also remember seeing a lot of Niagara and Canisius games back then. Pretty sure they were all in the same conference and somebody carried it. I definitely watched Marist a lot because my brother was offered a scholarship there and I was the only person in our house with any idea where it was. I was 15 at the time.
