How Great Was This Weekend?

All Hurley needs to do is play the tapes of these 2 final 4 games by the women, and watch how fast they closed out on almost every 3 point shot. Without a shot blocking presence.

Some of the best perimeter defense I've seen. Also watch how their hands are always up and their feet always in position.
 
Between the men and women, UConn has won 3 straight basketball titles with all the wins in double digits. That's an impressive run. Out of the 60 men's & women's titles up for grabs since 1995 (no tourney in 2020), UConn has won 30% (18/60) of them.
 
I am so high on the program although as a UConn fan I always have to manufacture grievances. So I was offended that espn ranked the women 3 in the way too early rankings for next year. How do you put a team with Fudd and Strong 3? Bringing back most of the team, gonna get someone in the portal, one 5 star player coming in. Just beat 1 and 2 by like 30 each....
 
1st and foremost is the UConn Women's Basketball team winning their 12th - That moves them past Wooden/UCLA (11) as the all time most championships in basketball for a college (Add in the men's 6 and at 18 - UConn is undisputed college basketball capital!)

2nd and just somewhat less enjoyable is any postseason where Duke loses.

3rd are the "breaking news" someone is returning...Glad we get Ball, Stew, Tarris back but getting Silas was the real breaking news. Still waiting to hear from Alex, Ross.

They are bringing in someone that’s been playing against WNBA and European pro players since she was 16, Blanca Quinonez from Ecuador. She’ll open some eyes. There are videos of her in the women’s team recruiting sub-forum
 
Anyone else getting the feel that Geno is retiring? He was a lot more emotional than usual. Also made the comment that people were telling him he should have gone out after Brianna Stewarts 4th. Said he wondered the last few years if they were right.

The crowd was LOUD on TV! It was a huge showing...you could tell. Incredibly awesome weekend.

The montage ESPN had of all of his headshots through the years made him look extremely aged even compared to a few years ago. It really hit me that the Geno era is ending soon. If not this year, we probably only have a few years left. I don't think UConn nation is fully prepared for this eventuality. He has been so important to the history of UConn, it's unquantifiable.

With Fudd and Strong returning I don’t think he is retiring I wouldn’t,

I would very surprised if he didn’t at an absolute minimum stay for Azzis last year.
