Ever wonder how 350 teams put together OOC schedules? It isn't just contacts. It's a bit of a meat market, too. The Basketball Travelers Inc. message board is basically the Craigslist of college scheduling.

http://www.basketballtravelers.com/game-schedule-board/?e_type=1

A couple of things:
-Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, New Mexico, NC State and Washington State are some of the schools looking for big-name home-and-homes. So is Clemson, but they're doing it a bit differently, willing to go on the road first. Good for them for learning from past mistakes.

-Michigan State is looking for someone big to play in Brooklyn. That should be interesting. Kentucky was looking for the same thing. I say pair 'em off and have a hell of a show.

-St. Mary's always says nobody will play them, yet there they are requesting buy games and ONE home and home. Stop complaining and step it up. Especially since you are completely screwed from an NCAA perspective.

-St. Bonaventure is basically begging. "St. Bonaventure is looking to start one more H/H at home for 2013-14. Losing top three scorers."

-Won't somebody, anybody, take Kent Sate's money? "Anyone still looking for a MTE? We are paying 140K for 1 more team to be a part of the NABC Coaches vs Cancer Tournament. You will play @Seton Hall Nov. 9 and then play 3 games @Kent State from Nov. 21-23. You will play Kent State, W. Carolina and USC Upstate. 140K!!"

-Utah State, offers like these are why your RPI sucks every year. "Utah State is looking to host 1 exhibition game next season on Nov. 4. We offer a small guarantee plus rooms."

-Seton Hall and DePaul are desperately seeking a home-and-home with a major conference opponent. Maybe sticking around with UConn, Louisville, ND and Cincinnati would have solved that.

That's pretty interesting. I can't believe I had thought the AD's had a tough job. This makes it very easy for them. I'll keep checking for the message from J. Delany requesting an east coast FCS football school to join a top-5 conference.

So is Marquette. Do I see a trend?

This is why we can still have a competative basketball program in the AAC. RPI is god. Everyone needs good games especially because the lower halves of some 'power conferences' are so god awful. Football not so much.

Oklahoma State wants a H/H? They certainly can bring Smart and Nash to CT next year.

It's pretty hilarious how this works. NC State is trying to schedule a high major to play a home-and-home starting at NC State by saying they're losing 4 starters this year. I guess it doesn't take Albert Einstein to run a jock shop after all.

Good find, if Manuel let's this one slide I'm gonna go all HuskyFanDan on here!

Wichita St, would be a good match-up.

Geez Seton Hall looks desperate, shame.

San Francisco would be good as well, have a 3 game West Coast road trip, with @Stanford, @Washington and @SanFran

I would like Schoolhouse Rock to explain how a schedule gets built, in the form of a cartoon.

A 3 game road trip 3000 miles from home? That's psychotic. Why?

Seton Hall and DePaul fall under that "nah they're not good enough to help our RPI but they're good enough to throw a win up if our guys don't feel passionate so why, rather play Maine?"............F them they get nothing now from UConn.

Lmao i thought that it was very professional and secretive about scheduling but that site just destroys that. Lol its very neat though.

Probably hadn't seen the news of the Wash trip being off. If you think UConn is playing Stanford and @Washington, its not an illogical conclusion to draw.

WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE KENT STATE'S MONEY?!?!?!?!?!?

Bad me for bumping up an old thread - but Baylor is looking for a H/H these next two seasons...

"Baylor University is looking for a Home/Home with a BCS school for 2013-14 season. Specifically looking Nov 12 for ESPN 24-hour marathon. Other dates in December available as well. Contact with interest!!"
Get on it Warde!
