Getting blown out would be bad. Losing close would only lament the bad losses in Maui and Newark that landed us an 8 seed. Winning means a successful season and further advancement is gravy.
Do you believe that if the seed number next to our name was five, four ir three it would lead us to beating Florida while having the number eight next to it makes that more difficult? We measure success in this tournament by hardware, not number of games played before an (alleged) inevitable loss. To win it all at some point we will need to play and beat one or more of the supposed best teams in the dance. Playing Florida in round two doesn't make them a better team than if we were to play them in round three or four. We need to man up, accept the challenge and do what we do.
The only other possibility would be to hope someone else slayds our dragons (the better teams in the dance) for us to give us an easy path. I for one would prefer we fight our own battles.
Winning would also scare the bejeezus out of anyone left in our path. The media narrative would change before the on court post-game interview.
They should be scared, and if they are not, the will be.
