House Money

Getting blown out would be bad. Losing close would only lament the bad losses in Maui and Newark that landed us an 8 seed. Winning means a successful season and further advancement is gravy.

Do you believe that if the seed number next to our name was five, four ir three it would lead us to beating Florida while having the number eight next to it makes that more difficult? We measure success in this tournament by hardware, not number of games played before an (alleged) inevitable loss. To win it all at some point we will need to play and beat one or more of the supposed best teams in the dance. Playing Florida in round two doesn't make them a better team than if we were to play them in round three or four. We need to man up, accept the challenge and do what we do.

The only other possibility would be to hope someone else slayds our dragons (the better teams in the dance) for us to give us an easy path. I for one would prefer we fight our own battles.

Winning would also scare the bejeezus out of anyone left in our path. The media narrative would change before the on court post-game interview.

They should be scared, and if they are not, the will be.

Total house money. I'm satisfied with where this team/roster has gotten in a bridge year coming of B2B. They're a top 30-35ish team and that's what they've achieved. Maybe we pull out the A+ game we've been waiting for all year tomorrow, our shooters all catch fire and our one physical advantage (Tarris) goes bananas. If not (unlikely), looking forward to seeing what this staff does in the portal and what they perceive as needed based on this year's roster imbalance. I think it's far away from being anywhere close to NC caliber, and will be curious to how the staff handles it.

Losing to Florida won't alter the trajectory of the program. This is just a bad draw and the NCAA never liked UConn

Unfair draw playing late Fri early Sun? Thought they kept game times somewhat the same each weekend

Game was played in msg. There was a punchers chance with that venue.
Pathetic.

Maybe if you do this you'll feel safe.

why would you want to play ineffective players? If our bigs are in foul trouble, I want Alex at the 5.
Because the Title of the thread is “ House Money “ so I posted a “ House Money “ question. Mind you, we’re out numbered almost 2 to 1 at every position.

Making tournament and winning a game is a solid season. We hoped for more, but it’s better than 2021 and 22 seasons
No it’s not. That’s what Shaka Smart considers a successful season. Not us.

Can Hurley at least weave some bridge minutes together for Ross, Nowell and even Singare. Especially if we get in foul trouble.
You want them to have some current game tape? That is both cold and thoughtful at the same time.

Mother of Pearl....

THIS^^^^ is the BS mojo you conjured up this season? You shudda stayed quiet when you quit. Sweet merciful crap!

Every-damned-body in this thread should be doing the flibberty-gibbet dance on a multiple stage gallows at the town gate.

IDGAF what the hell you deadweights are satisfied with. Which one of you losers wants to tell the team to knock it off and go home. After all, you've had enough fun for one season.

may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

It isn't a bad draw. After tomorrow, we'll have what a one seed would expect to see as their path.
The "problem" after winning tomorrow is all this "just glad to be here" BS goes away. FF or bust.

Someone call the nursing home and tell them they’re missing one from the dementia wing.

I don't see much reason for hope except for the fact that this team has shown the heart of a champion when dealing with large deficits. Based on that, our best hope might be to fall behind by 14 points early in the second half.

9.5 point underdogs??? Wow. When was the last time the spread has been that high against UConn. I just laid some money down on UConn covering. Let's go!
